The store is handy for some small items, but think twice when warranty is important to you. Brought back a broken unit on the same day of purchase and was promised a call back in a week or so. Never heard from them in two weeks. This was anticipated and luckily I was able to fix it using a welder.
Every time I go there, They’re shut over an hour before they say they are.
This review has cost me $149 .. bought a dash cam & asked about having it installed as I am an older widow with no home help. Local installers won't touch it and Anvil tell me I can only spend the credit in their store. Their idea of a good installation is for me to have the wire connect to my cigarette lighter with cord just dangling. I'm going another direction. I will tell everyone how they treat Jan Spiess, freeway truck crash widow who moved to the Mt for a refresh on life. Do local installers have a bad view of Anvil?
If I could give 0 stars I would, We traveled through Mt Gambier with our caravan a few months back and purchased an expensive MPPT solar controller that was falsely advertised as being able to charge lithium confirmed by Jaycar. Turns out it needed an extra device/cable/laptop program to set up for lithium. As we were on the road this didn't suit and I didn't want to spend another $50 on an already expensive device. I called up the Anvil and they refused to accept that this product didn't work as advertised and when I requested that I return the item in 3 weeks on our return trip as we were already 500km north he flatly refused and said we had 14 days to return it. I requested he run me through how to use it because he did not accept it didn't work and he refused saying he did not have time and would not have time in the future. I have never had such a rude and lacking customer experience. I would recommend against anyone going to this store. They also stated I could not return the product to any other Jaycar store, which is a lie. I returned the product in Adelaide to a very friendly Jaycar store and received a full refund. My only regret is that they received my money and time.
They have an excellent selection of watch batteries and other tid bits thats handy for electronics as in turntables if you have 1 you need to repair like i did
Helpful people, heaps of electronic parts etc ,if they haven't got it they will get it in and the prices are reasonable. Worth a visit
I am a new local to this town, and I thought I would support the local businesses during the COVID crisis. I arrived at this store wanting to have a browse of a couple of items I was interested in buying. I arrived with a takeaway coffee in my hand almost empty as I walked in the front door- I had no welcoming introduction, but instead an instant 'take your drink outside' imperious attitude. I took my last sip outside the store and came back in, asking for a rubbish bin for my cup. I was again spoken to in an unaccommodating way and told to 'put my rubbish in my car' parked on the street. I cannot believe the lack of customer service and impoliteness that this person demonstrated on my first and only visit in this store.
First time I went in I was served by a more 'experienced' gentleman who knew exactly what I wanted and where it was, good service particularly when it was only a $2.50 sale. Second time was a younger bloke, poor attitude, may have known his stuff but certainly wasn't bending over backwards to help.
Best place to go for electronics and any questions regarding such, the staff are better and overall professional service is better than green triangle. Knowlegable, and a genuine great service.
These guys are great had my brother's old computers he had passed away didn't know what to do didn't have any password to enter codes nothing like that so I took it into Anvil electronics they had a look where's your what they could do I was worried I was going to lose all my brother's photos they told me leave it with them and come back in a couple of hours they gave me a call one hour later to my surprise and Delight they were able to keep the photos but not much else they got me in changed my passwords and now I'm using my brother's computers my granddaughter has one of my brother's computers and we're all very very grateful thank you and anvil electronics we think you're great
