Abacus All Day at Eastland has the best coffee at the shopping centre and delicious breakfasts dishes. The service is amazing with really thoughtful staff. The fit out is nice and modern but still has a relaxed vibe. It's also pretty child friendly with space to let your kids run around.

Food was ok but service was completely lacking with airhead girls wandering around looking pretty but no idea of what they were doing. 4 requests to get butter which we originally ordered and walked past us and table next to us missing food as well. Seriously need to do some staff training or hire more competent staff

It's about time we had a terrific dining experience up the road from us! A very open, relaxed atmosphere greeted us, that has obviously been created with an attention to interior design detail using neutral tones and textures and a generous layout so you feel spoilt by not being crammed into the typical high density cacophony of cattle yard style of dining offered by most. Check out the fab mural on the wall. The three of us were greeted by attentive and polite staff who, throughout our stay weren't in your face and have obviously been trained in basic etiquette which is refreshing. The great architecture and interior design was matched with a terrific dining experience. The menu was simple yet elegant and seemed like an opportunity for the chefs to show off their creative skills. That they did from the delicious calamari which was melt in your mouth to the rump steak which I ordered rare which although not a prime cut was presented and cooked like it was. Ah and the dessert! The Torte was a moreish dark chocolate which was not overly sweet with pear prepared three ways - beautifully presented and delicious. The Honeycomb On Toast is a must have - sounds like breakfast fare but ignore that - it works as a great way to finish the meal. The bonus is the theatrics and journey that comes with it - the delightful chef brings the honeycomb out and explains where it came from and does his thing in preparing it at our table. The experience is engaging and interesting. The open architecture means you can see the chefs in action and the half moon booth we sat in was comfortable, private and well designed. I have never gone to the trouble of putting together a review because the experiences have been cattle class and underwhelming. Abacus presents what I would describe as a fine dining experience showcasing the chefs flair and creativity. I'm rapt we have finally found an experience we don't have to travel to Armadale, Toorak or South Yarra to enjoy. Add a little high brow with cloth napkins and their placement in our laps and I'd be raving even more so. Well done to the creators and to all involved.

Amazing dinners! Dinner & desert from the summer menu was beautiful and delicious. Service was friendly and meals were prepared quickly. Highly recommended.
