Excellent Youth hostel. When I booked 2015 we had someone in our party of 4 who has a fish allergy. We got a very positive reply to my mention of this upon booking and then during our stay the kitchen staff ensured fresh oil in the fryers and no fish. Thank you Canterbury Youth hostel, looking forward to staying again.Rooms: 5/5
Amazing stay in Canterbury for our group. It's very clean and comfortable. We felt it was like a private cottage due to less crowd. We thourughly enjoyed our stay with preparing Maggie, Masala Milk, Playing Games in one night stay. It is the best YHA hostel I have stayed so be far. Nikki was greatful in helping us with information needed during our stay. Rooms: Nice, clean and comfortable Nearby activities: Near to high street, cathedral and river Punting Safety: Highly secured Walkability: Everything is reachable and in walking distance
Very nice experience at the hostel. Almost no one staying there, so maybe it would be different during a busier time. I was originally annoyed because check-in was not until 5pm. Once I saw they have very few guests it makes sense. Everything was clean and comfortable. A Nice break from other places we have stayed.
Pleasently surprised by the room an food given to me, when i was visiting Canterbury with a group on a school trip. Also thanks to the friendly staff.
Booked a single night here last minute for a night on the town as it looked very respectable for the price. Very glad I did. Free parking car park is limited to 8 spaces but hey, it's free, clean, well sized room with a bathroom not all rooms have one attached, and en-suite is a bit generous but it was perfectly acceptable considering the price for a dormitory and the staff were exceptionally accomodating and helpful. About 15 mins walk from town, so not too far for a night out. Highly recommended.
Great Value for money, rooms are clean and tidy. Toilets clean but small.. Wouldn't recommend the breakfast option it was so so but edible . Parking is quite tight but good to have the option.Rooms: 5/5
Great fun as we stayed in the "hobbit houses" . Very clean, plenty of room , .......bed a little hard but then im fatter than a hobbitRooms: 5/5
Wasn't expecting it to be so beautifully and spaciously decorated! Very quiet, clean showers, simple rooms and great communal areas. Also they offered quite a few extras like board games and such for free. And food and drinks not alcohol is available at a price I believe, if I'm not wrong, even dairy alternative milks and such are available for teas and coffee. Definitely somewhere you get your money's worth!
We stayed in a cabin behind the main building, in a garden called the Shire. The cabin was very spacious, light, and very convenient. It had its own facilities, the shower and even a small kitchen. We also could use the facilities in the main building but there were almost no need to. It was very quiet in the evening and completely silent during the night despite a large summer school hosted next door. YHA is our favourite host across the country and Canterbury does not disappoint either.
We stayed in one of the cabins and had a lovely stay. The cabins are warm, even in December. Perfect for a family of four or five work an en suite shower, a bit more space than usual in a hostel and comfortable beds. The staff were fun and friendly.
