Wyndham Garden Queenstown

We had a wonderful stay. The location is extremely convenient, close to the airport and many other attractions. Waking up to the beautiful snow-capped mountains each morning was an added bonus. The room was comfortable and met our expectations with no complaints.nA couple of suggestions that could make the experience even better:n* At check-in, it would be helpful if reception informed guests that rooms are not serviced daily, and that housekeeping can be arranged upon request.n* It would also be good to ensure shower gel, shampoo, and hand soap are topped up before guests arrive. We simply asked, and they were promptly provided.nThe housekeeping staff were incredibly kind and helpful. When I requested shower gel, the young housekeeping staff member whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch also offered us fresh towels and later helped by taking away our rubbish when we asked. His friendly attitude is greatly appreciated.nBefore booking, I was a little hesitant because of some of the negative reviews I had read. However, our experience was the complete opposite. We had a pleasant stay and would definitely return.

I stayed at Wyndham Garden Queenstown and this was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. If there was an option for less than one star, I would give it.nnThe room was extremely dirty and unhygienic. The toilet had visible poop stains, which is completely unacceptable. On top of that, there was a terrible smell in the room that made the stay very uncomfortable.nnFor the price we paid, this hotel is absolutely not worth it. Cleanliness and basic hygiene should be the minimum standard, but unfortunately this place failed completely. Very disappointing experience and not what you expect from a hotel at this price.

Can’t believe this is a 4 star hotel. The walls need a proper clean and re paint. There were scuff marks all over them and when I looked closer you could see dirt and what looked like spilled coffee.nThe toilet had staining on the bowl.nBed was comfortable. The smallest hotel bathroom I’ve come across in New Zealand.nMy partner and I stayed one night. Check out was at 10am but housekeeping came at 8:43 am to clean the room.nOverall it’s a fine hotel but not worth the price and shouldn’t be 4 stars. Would be alright to stay one night if travelling through the area it is close to the airport but wouldn’t recommend a long stay here.

Great location and room size is pretty decent. Overall rooms are relatively clean.nUnfortunately that is where it stops. I was there for four nights and my room wasn't serviced once. Also, the walls are paper thin. I could hear people in the nextdoor rooms turning on and off light switches, having converstations and more. The hallways are also really loud when customers are talking while in the hallway. Won't be staying here again unfortunately.

I contacted the receptionist at Wyndham Garden and explained that I had severe diarrhoea during my trip and needed to return to Auckland urgently to see a doctor. At the same time, my cat had escaped from my friend’s house, so I had to cancel my trip and return home immediately.nnAlthough I understand the booking was under a non-refundable policy, the receptionist did not mention that it might be possible to change the booking date. Instead, I was repeatedly advised to contact Booking.com customer service.nnTwo days later, Booking.com informed me that they had not received any response from the hotel and suggested that I contact the hotel directly. However, when I contacted Wyndham again, I was told the booking had already expired and it was no longer possible to change the date to next year.nnAs a result, I lost around $400 without staying at the hotel at all. I understand policies exist, but the lack of communication and assistance was disappointing.nnUnfortunately, based on this experience, I would not consider staying here again if I visit Queenstown in the future.
