La Quinta by Wyndham Queenstown

We had a fantastic stay at La Quinta. The accommodation was excellent, with stunning views of Queenstown Airport. The location was perfect, just a 10-minute drive from the Pack & Save supermarket. We were pleasantly surprised when the friendly desk staff upgraded us to a self-contained suite at no extra cost.nnParking was included with our booking, although there are limited spaces available on a first-come-first-served basis. For any urgent necessities, the hotel has a convenient on-site cafe and grocery store located in the lobby. Overall, we highly recommend La Quinta for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Queenstown.

Good location, close to airport & good views of mountains. Decent rooms. Only a handful parking spots available in hotel building. We used to return to the hotel around 10-10:30pm & all parking spots would be occupied every night. There’s a paid parking behind hotel that would cost you around $10.

Me and my husband stayed here as part of our honeymoon. Location of this place was beautiful however we were a bit disappointed about the fact that we paid for a Mountain View room but there was a huge beam that ran across the whole window obstructing the view and you had to duck underneath and go onto the other side of the beam to see the full view. The service was great however everyone was really friendly. Probably wouldn’t hurry back to stay here though.

I booked the Standard Room with Mountain View for 4 nights. The room was a good size, but the bed was two singles put together so you could physically feel the gap in the middle of the bed. I did, however, get a room upgrade to a larger room with a kitchenette, dining table, and larger bathroom with washer/dryer.nnGranted the situation I am grateful for the room upgrade, but wish the communication was better received on both ends. I received a call on my first night, by the staff who helped me check in that afternoon around 3 PM. The staff asked what time I will be checking in which caused some confusion on my end because I was physically in the hotel for the past 4 hours and the staff had handed me the key card and instructions etc.nnI was told to come to the front desk the next morning for a room change, but I didn't mention I couldn't do that time since I had an activity booked that morning. So I arrived in the evening around 5PM to get a room change but was turned away because housekeeping had left for the day.nnThe next day, I approached the front desk and was helped by a different staff who asked me about the entire situation. I would have appreciated if the other staff let them know since it caused lots of stress on my end to explain the whole situation to them.nnMy new room was a nice size, however it was not particularly clean. I found hair and tissue and thread debris in the bathroom which wasn't pleasant to see. The bed and kitchenette was tidy.nnParking is extremely limited, first in first serve basis with around 18 free parking spots which is gone in an instant. The remaining parks are for the residence I'm the other building. I got a parking infringement ticket this morning but appealed it since I paid for 2 consecutive days for parking using the parkmate app.nnSo far, 5/10 for value, convenience, parking, cleanliness and location.

I would stay here again. I extended my stay in Queenstown because the LQ was so chill and affordable. The rooms were clean with comfy beds and pillows. I also liked that it was quiet being away from the main CBD but there’s still plenty of good cafes and restaurants around Frankton. Tip: free parking fills up at night so if you’re out late you may get stuck parking at salvos for $10.
