Pencarrow house was a lovely visit, the grounds are well looked after but don’t expect national trust standards, the property only has two gardeners and volunteers. The house tour is worth doing and the lady that guided us through was knowledgeable and passionate. We stopped in the cafe and the two cans of fizz I purchased cost £3.90 however the food looked good.
Highly recommend Pencarrow House and Gardens for a visit. The house is viewed via a guided tour and they run at 45 minute intervals from 11.15. No need to pre book, just turn up and choose a time slot. Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable about the house and family history. It was a very enjoyable experience. The gardens are extensive and you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring. There is a tea room and a children's play area on site. I would definitely visit again.
First visited Pencarrow soon after they opened to the public in 1975 - it was well worth another visit. We did a tour of the house and Mandi was a brilliant guide, full of interesting info and a good delivery! Good walk around the gardens. Would highly recommend a visit.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Beautiful House and stunning gardens. Dog friendly, apart from in the house. Cafe is reasonable, good quality food and lovely coffee and cake! A lovely place for a day out.
Lovely day out. The house tour was very interesting and brought to life by Val, the guide, who was excellent. Cafe was good too. What stood out about Pencarrow was how friendly all the staff were.
Really great country house with fantastic gardens for walking. Really well kept with easy walking routes that are mobility friendly. The ladies in the shop are so friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome with only common sense rules
Lovely! A gem. Dog friendly. A lake. Great walks. A beautiful house. A tea room. A shop. Members of the Historic Houses scheme.
This is one of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen, the guided tour around the house was fantastic and so informative. As it is still a family home it has that warmth feel. The gardens are also great with lovely walks for every age capability. Can not recommend this highly enough, well worth the entry fee.
This is by far the best house tour I have ever had. Val, our tour guide, was as fun as she was knowledgeable about the house and family and that was incredibly impressive. The owner, Lady Molesworth-St. Aubyn, was highly polite to speak with as she made her way to the lakes with her adorable dog, Molly. The gardens, even in October, were beautiful and enjoyable to walk around. There are a few peacocks wandering but they tend to keep to themselves. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough. If you are visiting Cornwall, this is definitely a place to add to your list!
Lovely informative tour around the house this afternoon. All though portraits and history. Wow. The gardens were great and peaceful, just wished we had been here earlier in Spring to see all the Camilla and Rhododendrons in flower. What a house and great to see that it is still being lived in and managed by the same family.
