Bad experience ever!!! My friends and I went to last night. One of the lifeguards, a girl name starts with P, told us we can’t use lane pool because we can’t swim 25meters. However there is no paper or sign to show the rule, and no one told us at reception!!! And we have been here few times and no one told us the rule!!! And we swam in the slow lane, not medium or fast. There is even a walk lane, but no lanes for learners like me, casual learning swimming with friends in the lane pool. And the lifeguard told us we can learn from their swimming school, which I need to pay, and because the learning school, there is this kind of rule that no self learners in lane pool. I never heard in NZ, freedom and liberal country, we can’t learn from friends, and especially in the pool running by council not private swimming pool!!! That is so ridiculous!!! It’s unfair!
I've played badminton there, and the court isn't ideal for the sport. Firstly, the ceiling is too low, which hinders clear shots that badminton requires. Secondly, the white color of the walls, similar to the shuttlecock, makes it challenging to spot during the game. Although the light-colored floor is acceptable, a deeper shade would make it easier to determine the shuttlecock's position.nnIn conclusion, I won't play badminton there again. I recommend either adapting the court for other suitable sports or addressing the practical issues with the current setup. Swimming-related sports might be more suitable here than badminton.
Great pool with plenty of life guards on duty and looking after of the people. Lots of variety of pools as well which cater for different liking, such as: wave pool, lazy river pool, toddler pool, family pool, main pool, as well as diving pool. Have plenty of facilities such as saunas and jet pools. Their changing room are great and plenty. Their swim teachers are very skilled and great with the children. My pre-schooler loves the pools as well as his teacher. The downside is their car park can be extremely full as it's shared with myriad activities and venues in the compound.
Westwave pool and leisure centre is very popular over the weekends. Unfortunately it has suffered some damage since Cyclone Gabrielle. The main pool and dive pool are up and running and have just had new lighting installed prior to the storm. Parking can be difficult when there is a swim competition. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The gym has a lot of equipment and space
I came here for a diving competition. One of the best diving pools in NZ! Olly, 10
