The Curry Village

Ordered via ubereats. I was very impressed with what I received . The packaging was great! It kept the food moist and at a good temperature. The portion sizes blew me away! I couldn't believe how much chicken there was. Talk about value for money and it tasted very good. I enjoyed the whole meal. I will definitely recommend spending your hard earned dollars on a good kai here thank you Happy New Year!

This place is such great value for money and the staff here are lovely. We got 2x mild butter chickens. You can get a full sized curry, rice, Naan and maybe a drink too i can't remember for like $16. The curry was a big serve and the Naan breads were huge! The only bad thing was that once we got our order we couldn't eat it!!! Our containers both had 'mild' written on them so it was definitely not a miscommunication on spice level but when we tried them they were way too spicy. We have people in our house that normally order medium or extra hot Currys but even they said it was spicier than a medium. The flavour was really yum and chicken looked good but we couldn't handle more than 1 spoon each and then had to have toast for dinner . We wouldn't go back here because it's too spicy but I still think it's 4 Star place for taste, value and customer service.

If you’re the owner and you don’t work in the store then you lack some of the information. But there’s the problem with your staff that they don’t listen carefully enough. All they were doing is screaming on us. So you missed the whole point, the last time when chef said order medium to hot after making us taste, we said okay. Then yesterday we order medium to hot yet it was very very mild and then the chef said bad things to us that we don’t know our taste when he was not ready to accept that his consistency of spice level differs. Another thing, your staff who was talking over call said “do not ever come and order” so they never really accepted their mistake and when you pay for something, you deserve a good quality in return. The only problem is your staff lacks in listening to customers. They should learn to take a feedback positively. Every time we visit, we give them a smile and greet them but when it’s about a review, they tend to get negative so if customers are paying, they expect good customer service and good quality food too unlike screaming and shouting and not listening to the customers. And we ourselves work in customer service area since 5 years so we do have an experience and the basic learning is to at least listen to what customer has to say without interrupting for a second. We have the phone recording of how you were just not letting us speak and were screaming on us. More importantly, always giving false spice level indication and not accepting the mistake later.

All the staff doesn’t know how to LISTEN to the customer. They just think they are right. The cook doesn’t know how to cook. When I ordered hot food in past, it was very very mild. And then, I asked them to make spicy. The cook made real spicy that I couldn’t even eat. Then I said, please make hot but not too much that I cannot eat and then the chef made me taste and he said, just order medium to hot, I said okay all good. Next time, when I ordered medium to hot, it was mild again. We tried to talk, the whole staff was shouting and the chef was just not ready to listen to us. They can’t keep the consistent taste. Sometimes they say order medium to hot yet they just make mild food, then they order hot food yet they make mild. The customer service is very poor and the consistency in the taste is very poor too. They don’t have any respect towards the customers and they all lack in customer service and provide mis-information towards the taste of food.

This place is probably the best Indian food in the area and maybe even a contender for best in Auckland. Generous portions, always hot and fresh with lots of flavour. Highly recommend getting a cheesy garlic naan to accompany your curry. Yum!

Revisited the place and once again great food and friendly service. I must say Butter Chicken was out of the world, Butter Naan Bread was excellent and Indian Samosas were delicious. This place is highly recommended for Indian food lovers . I am sure I will visit them again soon.Food: 5/5

Wow, this place is a new go to. Friendly owners, very flavourful butter chicken and cheesy garlic naan bread. Affordable too! 10/10 recommend this if you’re reading the reviews to make up your mind. Parking: Parking at the front or around the corner.

I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family as this is one of the best Indian takeaway in Auckland. Their kadai paneer is super tasty. Good amount of paneer. They also have Rumali rotis in their menu and it's must try. I must say the cook have really good skills. As I saw myself making him Rumali roti. It was really good experience. We are definitely coming back.

Great little family business, very busy on a Saturday night so the wait was a little longer but the curries were fresh and delicious. -1 as the garlic Naan bread was a little tough.
