We dined here twice while we were on holiday in Auckland from Australia. The service was 10/10 and the food was so bloody good. Not only was it fast but it was so tasty. I loved the open kitchen so you could see the chefs working. The decor of the establishment was also nice. Everything was delicious, I wish we had gone a third time to taste everything on the menu. The take away hokey pokey was also good. I highly recommend this place.
Island vibes with upmarket cuisine Beautiful bao - a little on the sweet side with the sauces for my taste but the tofu treatment was next level. Top quality ingredients and classy-kitsch cocktails, if there is such a thing! It's a little cramped but the service is excellent, the decor is fun. Great for a bite to start the night.Food: 4/5
Good knowledge of Chinese dumplings, they make good use of the western ingredients mix with the traditional Chinese dumpling ingredients to transforming them into the contemporary food, and they taste really great. The Pork with black truffle dumpling is highly recommended with soup inside, and served with red vinegar & ginger. Also recommend stir fried market fish.
Finally got to try their popular pork bao and it did not disappoint! The bao was just perfect, soft and airy but also dense and slightly sweet, just how a bao bun should be. The pork was crispy, the pickled cucumber added great freshness and the sauce nicely completed the whole bao. The shumai and dumplings were good too. The bang bang chicken was not quite as impressive, if I had to choose again I wouldn’t order it but wasn’t bad. Good service, nice vibe and overall a decent Asian fusion choice for some casual meet-ups!
Celebrated my bday dinner with my partner and we were disappointed with the dishes that we ordered. Pork steam bun - pork was hard and chewy, steamed pork dumpling - was just ok, egg noodles with pork - bland, not much flavour. Fried rice was decent however kung pao chicken wasn't spicy :. We loved the kimchi and cucumber salad though :
A really nice Asian fusion restaurant that a mix of great food and great ambience. Went there when they had a Duck Sunday menu with Peking duck which is what our group opted in for. We also ordered the Mapo Tofu which was nice but the puréed tofu was an interesting take on things. For some sides we got roast pork steamed bun, the lamb wontons, prawn toast, pork and prawn shumai. Got a few drinks too which were nice. Lychee margarita, pineapple G&T, Bermuda sour.
Booked to go here for my mum's 70th. Incredible atmosphere, divine food and yummy cocktails! The lights and decor were really fun and the whole team came out to sing happy birthday Was a really special evening!Food: 5/5
Quite a vibrant place on the Ponsonby strip. We had ordered Sweet & Sour Pork which was really nice and the Kun Pao chicken was Ok. Also sipped in Lost in Paradise mocktail. Reservation is recommended on a weekend. For more reviews for places in New Zealand and beyond - follow my insta handle @inzea_n_beyond
Request a seat at the kitchen bar and see the chefs at work, the theatre of the kitchen is incredible. Outstanding service, excellent portions and amazing flavours.
Blue Breeze is easily the best restaurant on the Ponsonby strip. The magaritas are a must try along with the pork and prawn dumplings + it’s a given that you must top your meal off with a pork bun. 10/10 James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
