Taupo TOP 10 Holiday Park

We stayed in Kitchen Cabin No. 25 and found it to be really lovely — modern, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The park itself was easy to get around and in a great location, close enough to town for convenience but still nice and peaceful.nnThe facilities were excellent — we especially enjoyed the heated thermal pool and the regular pool. The toilets and shared areas were also well-maintained and up to a good standard. Overall, a really enjoyable and comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again!

Spent the long weekend here with family using a campsite and a cottage. Grandkids had an awesome time with use of the jumping pillow, swimming pool, pedal carts and even had movie nights for the kids nGood sized campground and facilities kept so clean. Would recommend staying here.

While the staff were pleastant and facilities great, the gritty brown mud dust swirling from the unoccupied campsites up wind of us was the pits. Large dust whirlwinds as high as the trees 20ft were constantly coating our gear, car and tent. It also got into our tent and under our tent fly and coated us, our sleeping bags, pillows, electric fridge and power bank which both have intake vents. We woke up with gritty teeth and hacking coughs - wouldn't recommend this at all as an asthmatic. We shifted to another site after the first night and had the same problem. We then surrounded our tent with all the towels we had available and borrowed 2 more from the office that we used to try to block the dust from getting under our tent fly though we only had enough to surrounded ¾ of our tent on the windward side. As well as being physically distressing and uncomfortable it was pretty sad seeing all of our nice clean camping gear and our car get trashed with mud dust. We also couldn't cook, eat or relax with a drink on our site or hang up our wet gear either. This mud dust problem would probably be fine if you're hermetically sealed inside a campervan but was extremely unhealthy for tenting. We've loved other Top 10 camp grounds we've stayed at at this time of year but have not faced this problem before. Still have the cough but nice to no longer have gritty teeth and eyes.

This one ranks as one of my favourite TOP10s. My family and I especially enjoyed the kitchen and dining area. Also the outside seating area is great. We also loved the thermal pool and found the family bathroom really handy. In general all facilities were really well kept.nnOnly flaw would be its distance to the city.

We stayed in a camper for 2 nights, it is a very busy site, good facilities and well placed, the pitches could do with a bit of an update, but other than that really nice. Oh yes, my wife said, ‘you don’t get enough time on the dryers’ it rained whilst we were there.
