Phoenix Resort

We had a lovely one-night stay at Phoenix Resort and truly enjoyed every moment.nnThe room was warm, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The private spa was such a cute touch it made the stay feel extra special and added to the whole experience. We also loved the peaceful rose garden, which was the perfect spot to unwind, whether for a quiet read or even a laid-back BBQ.nnThe location was super convenient, close to all the places we needed to be, with easy access to the lake for a beautiful evening or morning stroll.nnA simple, comfortable, and relaxing stay, would definitely come back!

Very nice room, good heating comfy bed, kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Having our own spa was great, loved the mineral water. Pool takes a couple of hours to fill so turn it on well before you want to use it.

Booked last minute accommodation here, on a trip back to Wellington from Auckland, the owner/reception was very accommodating to our needs as the room I had tried to book via another website was gone so he sorted everything for us over the phone and when we arrived our room was ready to go. The place has big rooms, clean, and fully functioning kitchen and a bathroom with a high pressure shower!nThe private mineral pool was hot! And the beautiful rose garden was lovely to look at with a morning coffee. Easy to walk down to the Lake too.nWould recommend :

Very kind staff, but just not worth the price.nnRooms are quite dated and run-down, the garden is pretty but also dated and run-down ripped up trampoline right at the front gate, gate rusted shut. Wifi was slow and spotty. The place needs a makeover.nnWe stayed for 2 nights, and for $50 more could have gotten a room at the 4-star Millenium Hotel across the road right on the water of Lake Taupo we ended up going here for dinner each night anyway. Should have just done that in hindsight.

Warmly greeted, Bob was an exceptional host. Units were well appointed and spotlessly clean. Lovely to sit and relax in the garden area. Super comfy beds and great being so close to the beach.
