Nice park that is free no cost to explore. Highlights include an old military battery, hilly green space, and fabulous views. Climbing to the summit of this old volcanic cone is a rewarding workout. Visitors can reach the summit on foot using trails or the paved road.
Mount Victoria is one of the best viewpoints around Auckland! Just a 17km drive from Auckland City and easily reachable via ferry through Devonport. The breathtaking 360° panoramic view is absolutely worth it you can clearly see Rangitoto Island, the Auckland skyline, and the beautiful surrounding Pacific Ocean.nnThe historic ancient artillery gun at the summit adds a unique touch to the experience. Perfect spot for photos, sunset views, and relaxing with nature. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists visiting Auckland!
This was one of my favourite places I visited while in Auckland. It’s easy to get here from the Auckland CBD, you just take a quick ferry ride across to Devonport. Then it’s a short walk from the Devonport ferry terminal to the top of Mount Victoria not a hard climb up.nnThe views are spectacular of the surrounding area. 360 degree views all around. There are places to sit, including in the shade of trees or bushes if it’s a hot day. I highly recommend a visit here!
Mount Victoria is absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Devonport! The walk up is definitely steeper than anticipated—don’t let anyone fool you into thinking it’s an easy stroll—but the good news is it’s a relatively short hike, so it’s still very manageable for most people. There are benches on the walk up for breaks and it really doesn’t take any longer than 15 minutes.nnOnce you reach the top, you’re rewarded with incredible panoramic views of Auckland, the harbor, and surrounding islands. It’s the kind of view that makes you forget all about the climb. A great mix of a quick adventure and a scenic payoff—highly recommend!
Very nice location to see the Auckland City view. Besides the city view, Mount Victoria also has a 360 view of the surrounding. The path to get the top is a nice slope with few stairs. There was construction at the time of my visit so finding a parking was a challenge but otherwise there should be some parkinga available.
