Takarunga / Mount Victoria

I randomly was walking around Devonport and found my way up to Mount Victoria. Short walk and slightly steep going up but worth the 360 degree views. You can explore the old fort here and run down the hill.

Boarding the ferry, I arrived at the beautiful town across the bay from the city center; slowly climbing up the mountain path. From here, you can overlook the Auckland city skyline and the bay, the relaxed atmosphere is unforgettable.

Great place to go for some fantastic views of the Auckland harbour and city. The walk is bit difficult on a hot day but the views at the end are worth the effort. You can explore the battery installed at the summit.

Great views and it's very easy to get to from downtown auckland. The ferry trip is just about 10 minutes, followed by about 15 minutes walking.

This is the highest volcano on the North Shore. Very beautiful place with wonderful scenery. It's great for picnic lovers. Take a ferry from downtown and get here in 10 minutes.
