St George’s Hospital

This was my first experience at St George’s and our family’s third.nnEverything from the first contact to admission to discharge, and the processes in between - worked perfectly as expected.nnThe staff were professional, polite and caring. Although my stay was only for a few hours, and not involving an overnight stay, it was a pleasant and positive experience for me and my family.

I had day surgery yesterday and want to acknowledge the wonderful nursing staff. Special thanks to Jenny who got me prepared. She was bubbly, welcoming, efficient and reassuring because I was anxious. Thanks also to Helen who dealt with my discharge. Unfortunately In can’t name all of the nurses who assisted during my stay. Every one of them were amazing!

I’m so impressed with the level of care I’ve had. The facilities are top notch. Every nurse has been so kind and personable. I have been in for a public DHB procedure and am so impressed. Well done St George’s

Had back surgery this week and spent 3 nights at St George's. Thank you to my wonderful surgeon of course, but I also very much appreciate all the staff who took care of me, from the Anaesthetists, James and Richard; Theatre staff; Holly in Recovery; and all the lovely nurses and other staff on Ward 3. I felt in very safe hands and well cared for. The food was beautiful and my room very comfortable. Thanks to all !

The food, anaesthetist, and surgeons were all fantastic, but what really stood out to me were the nurses at St George’s Hospital.nnFrom pre-op, where Lucy and Heather helped ease my nerves with their professionalism and humor, to waking up in recovery with Bianca and another talented nurse whose name escapes me now, to the wonderful women on Ward 5—each of you played a key role in making my experience, and that of many other patients, far less intimidating!nnEven though I wasn’t fully aware afterwards, I still remember Jamie, Anna, Dawn, and Shanae. The work you do is truly remarkable and selfless, and it makes the recovery process for many patients like myself, so much easier. St George’s should be so proud of their wonderful team of nurses!
