Rudest lady on the checkout ever. Will need to find out her name. As we came into the shop we had 2x empty coke cans as we thought there was going to be a rubbish bin. As we went through we realised there wasn’t any so held onto as we went through. After we paid and were leaving I kindly asked the lady at self checkout if there was any bin here. She said sure go point behind the counter by the carpet that’s there. My mum went to put the cans into the bin behind the counter when this lady who is very large, older and short hair said in the nastiest tone “you CANNOT PUT ANYTHING THERE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH ABSOLUTELY NO” she said more but I was taken back and distracted by how incredibly rude her tone was my mum then took the can back and as she was leaving I said back “the lady at self checkout said it was okay to put it there” and again the lady said in most rudest tone ever “NO YOU CANNOT I DONT CARE YOU ARE NOT PUTTING IT IN THERE” I then proceeded to say to her “there is absolutely no reason to be so rude but thanks” and we walked off. Never in my life have a I ever been spoken to so poorly. It felt as though the operator was trying to embarrass my mum in front of the customers that were there and just simply a nasty old lady. We completely understand if customers are not permitted to use staff bins and if the self checkout lady would’ve said no we would have absolutely had zero issues. It was the most uncomfortable, rude experience ever and I believe that this complaint needs to be taken seriously. The way we were spoken to left us feeling shocked, embarrassed, and quite upset. We were simply trying to dispose of two empty cans after being directed to that bin by another member of your staff. We were not being disrespectful or doing anything intentionally wrong. Being spoken to in such a harsh and confrontational manner in front of other customers made my mum feel humiliated, and I felt angry that she was treated that way by one of your staff members for no reason at all. No customer should leave a store feeling embarrassed or belittled for making an honest mistake, especially when they were following the instructions given by another employee.

I love shopping at this spotlight they had the cutest items that I got for my birthday party and a very nice craft section and the staff are so nice here

I do watercolour paintings and I love Spotlight's range of photo frames to put my paintings in. The Frame Depot brand has nicely mitred corners and strong clips, and come in protective covers with cardboard shields on the corners. Spotlight stocks a comprehensive range of these, and usually on a good discount.

Be careful depending on which staff member you get! Just went in as the $40 VIP save voucher didn’t come off my spend on Saturday, their call centre advised the discount could be applied if I bring my receipt. The manager came over, didn’t greet me, just loudly yelled “so you didn’t think to scan the voucher at the time?” Then refused to let me speak. I tried to explain I mentioned it at the time and there wasn’t a voucher to scan but she just spoke over me. Then went on to say the call centre is wrong and just ‘polite’ as she made a strange expression at the other staff who seemed intimidated by her behaviour, she was speaking very loudly at me throughout this, and kept inching closer to me over the counter….nThis was a very strange experience and I’m not sure why this manager thought it was appropriate to behave like that as I was calm and kind even after the way she greeted me.nMake sure you check your receipts! If any issues found, good luck to you!
