Came here for open heaven. Well-organised venue with good air conditioning. Lighting set-up is good and the speakers are very loud
I went to the Jeff Chang concert at Spark Arena last Saturday night, and it was honestly such a mean experience. I was pretty stoked to get tickets because the place was completely sold out and the whole arena was absolutely packed.nThe stage setup they had was massive. We were sitting up in the stands, but we still had a heaps good view without anyone blocking our sightlines. The best part was this huge screen behind the stage. At one point, they put up this epic background showing the Auckland skyline right across the water, which was super cool to see at a huge world tour concert. It made the vibe feel really special, and the crowd was totally loving it.nI reckon the sound at Spark Arena is usually pretty solid, but for this gig, it was next level. Jeff Chang has a crazy good voice, and the acoustics made sure you could hear every high note perfectly, even all the way from where we were sitting. It wasn't too deafening either, just really clear and well-balanced. That was sweet as, because sometimes the music can just sound super muffled at other venues.nThe atmosphere inside the stadium was absolutely unreal. When everyone turned on their phone torches, the entire arena lit up like a massive sea of stars. It was a pretty full-on crowd, but getting inside was actually super easy. Scanning the digital tickets on our phones was fast, and the staff were all chill and helpful. Even when thousands of us were trying to leave at the end, it wasn't a nightmare to get out.nOverall, I definitely reckon Spark Arena is the best place in NZ for big concerts. The facilities are great, the sound is awesome, and the vibes are immaculate. Five stars for sure!
Last international act I saw was back in the 80s in the 'super top' with UB40. Boy things have changed. And for the better. Plenty of kiosks & free water. The arena's sound system is 1st class & its probably the way I would like to see acts from overseas.
It was really awesome to watch OneRepublic in Spark Arena. I was in a back-row seat with a clear view of the stage. Great sound system! Looking forward to watch more concerts/shows here.
Nice Venue, if you haven't been to an Arena, getting to your seats can be daunting because of the slope and arrangement but there are rails and lighting for assistance. Well constructed for hosting events.
