What I particularly love about The Powerstation is its size and layout. It feels intimate enough to connect with the band, yet it can still hold a decent crowd, creating a real buzz. There aren't many bad spots in the venue, so you're likely to get a good view of the stage no matter where you are.
Powerstation is a very nice place for concerts as you get to get really close to the banda and you can actually follow the musicians moves. Not to mention that by being small you can feel the punch of the great music and The catarses of the audience! Not to mention that across the street there is a brewery where you can go for early start to eat and drink.
The Powerstation is the best live music venue in Auckland, if not the country. With the wraparound mezzanine floor overlooking the stage and ground floor you can get a great experience no matter where you choose to stand.
Great cosy venue, enjoyed many gigs here. Upstairs and downstairs catering to the viewers and moshers alike. Bar serving your standard drinks.nEasy location with lots of public transport around.
Love this venue! The first time I went here was 25 years ago. Stunning photographs don the walls in a way which encapsulates spectacular musical genius and further promotes this unique live music venue with a genuine quality that most seem to lack these days. The sound quality is fantastic and all areas have good visibility of the stage. This is a venue dedicated to the musicians and those who desire a fairly intimate experience to soak up their performance. The first band I saw here was No Doubt and last weekend it was Beth Orton, with many spectacular bands in between. If there's a band you want to see and they're playing here, go!
