After a day of touring the Alamo, why not treat yourself to an unforgettable dining experience? The Lone Star Cafe is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings. From the moment we walked in, the exceptional service had us hooked. Our meal was nothing short of incredible, and we highly recommend the burger and pecan salad with shrimp. But the cherry on top was the special margarita for two - it was simply mind-blowing. And the best part? The restaurant is conveniently located right off the Riverwalk, making it the perfect place to continue your evening in style. The bill came to just under $75 for our meal, and it was worth every penny. Don't miss out on this fantastic dining spot!
Lone Star Cafe is a classic Texas steakhouse with one of the best views of the Riverwalk in San Antonio. The staff is very attentive and fast. The food came out within 10 minutes on a Saturday night. The mashed potatoes were on point but the steak was average. I did go with the cheaper cut at $24 so maybe go with the more pricey option for a better steak. Fun times!
The staff go over and above. We had a dog and a carriage. The young gentleman and young lady that worked the entrance at the downstairs of the Long staircase, offered to store the carriage for us so we only had to carry the tiny pup upstairs without the carriage. So nice of them. They watched it while we dined. Celeste was our waitress. She was awesome. Gave us a bowl of cold water for the dog and took great care of all of us. Then a lady came around taking photographs. We got one for free. Thanks just kept getting better. The ribs were awesome. I highly recommend this place. Your staff are awesome.
Came at 7:00pm on a Saturday. No wait time. Straight upstairs inside my choice. Ordered food and it came out very fast. And it was all hot. I’ll admit brisket looked dry but it wasn’t. It was good. The bbq sauce however is tangy but not too tangy. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. It was fantastic. Complimented the brisket nicely. Tater tots were crunchy. Mozzarella sticks and marinara was good.
The atmosphere was really awesome, but the staff seemed in a rush when it wasn’t busy. The food was good for a quick bite. Pretty generic food options I think, so good for all ages. Everything was clean, food was hot and tasteful.
Walked along the river walk, noticed steakhouse and thought “helllll yeahhhh”. Walked up the stairs and was seated promptly. Greeted and ordered drinks and appetizers. Everything was timely and delicious. Got the Buffalo chicken sandwich, could not have been happier. Great atmosphere and amazing time. Thank you guys
Average food. Country fried steak was decent… T-bone steak was overpriced and lacked seasoning. Gravy was probably the best sauce there. Fries was seasoned unevenly.
This place has the potential be great, but for two reasons, it lost two stars. First, the server. She came to our table and she has an attitude from the start. However, we are hoping it was just a poor first impression. I asked her if they can make me a Kahlua and Cream. She replies that she doesn't think they carry Kahlua. My husband asked her if she can go ask if she's not sure. She responds, "We don't carry Kahlua." My husband said, "well which is it, you don't think or you know you don't carry Kahlua?" She declares that she knows they don't carry Kahlua. So I ask if they have Amaretto? She tells me, is it on the list, because if it's not on the list, we don't carry it and that I need to pick something from the menu. We both decided to stick to water. After she left our table, my husband went over to the bar and asked if they carry Kahlua? SHOCK...why yes, they do. So my husband gave the server's tip to the bartender, since she lied to us. The bartender called over and informed the manager about the server refusing to check when she didn't know for certain. My brisket sandwich was delicious. My husband ordered the T-Bone, but it was quite bland on seasoning. It didn't have much flavor, so I shared my BBQ sauce with him. Would I go back? Yes, because the bartender and the brisket sandwich made up for the server with an attitude. I can only hope she learns from this and does a great job from here on in. Plus, the scenery was extra cool, as they have the Christmas lights up! :
Had dinner here while at the riverwalk one evening. The mushroom appetizer was very good, with some of the largest mushrooms I've had. Our service was great, we had a large table of people but our server was able to keep up with no help.Food: 5/5
Food is good. I'm from elsewhere so and I figure it might be blasphemous to say I like my barbeque sauce thick and smokey, which does not seem to be the case around these parts; nothing wrong with that. Service was awesome! The best part was the squirrels : very friendly for a nibble of French fries or nuts if you have them. Plenty of the staff love them too so quite wholesome. 10/10 would come again for squirrel friend.
