This was the best meal I had in Auckland! I sat at the bar with Nellie and Helene and have never in my life received better service. I told them to bring me whatever they wanted and they totally gave me the best of the best. I am so glad I got to experience their hospitality at Hello Beasty, they made my entire trip to New Zealand amazing! I will definitely be back here and will be recommending this place to everyone I know. Thanks again Nellie and Helene!!!!
Such a cute restaurant with a fun atmosphere. Loved the decor and wall art. Food and drink were tasty. Serving small "shareable" plates, we were able to try a variety of dishes. Roasted carrots were my favorite! My husband loves the kbbq chicken skewers very much.Food: 4/5
A very decent Asian fusion restaurant. Loved sitting in front of the open kitchen and seeing how each chef creates wonderful dishes. Very well organized kitchen and good services. My recommendations are Korean Fried Cauliflower, Tuna Tartar a bit spicy, and Pork Scotch.Food: 5/5
One of the best experiences in town. We booked but it didn't go through the system... the manager was very accommodating and asked us to wait in the bar till she could arrange a table for us. The bartender was lovely and convinced us to have a cocktail $18.. simply delicious and beautiful! Few minutes later we were seated in front of the kitchen...it was amazing to watch the chefs preparing beautiful meals. We ordered fish with scallops $38 and eye fillet $39 which was prepared quickly. Perfect flavor, presentation, portion... The waiter was very nice too. The whole experience? More than 5 stars!
If I was to describe this restaurant in one word I would just say “vibes”. Honestly such a cool atmosphere, servers are all super friendly. And an open view of the kitchen. The prawn toast and donut desert are must tries. Some of the fried food admittedly was a bit salty KFC cauliflower in particular. But other dishes such as the chicken skewers and chicken wrap were solidly good as well. The price was a little on the high end I thought for some of the food - but given how popular it is and the location I guess you’re paying a premium. All in all I’d still give it five stars.
The best dish was the doughnut desert. I find the fusion did not gel well. The sauces can be a little overbearing. Given the Google rating they are getting, I had expected much better meal that I would go back and recommend to friends. Unfortunately, meat was overcooked, sauces are way too spicy despite I can tolerate chilli quite well, dumplings is a little dry and hard - the sauce and food could have been better for the price we are paying. We ordered quite a few dishes and unfortunately several had about the same sauce some miso base. I wouldn't be dreaming about going to this place.
Our last dinner in Auckland and Hello Beasty was incredible! The potstickers were so delicious but the slow roasted lamb was the best I have ever had so tender! John Dory with the most incredible shrimp and scallop dumpling was also excellent. Very nice wines and friendly service spot on. We have been planning our trip to New Zealand for a long time and so grateful to Kami who helped us secure an early booking. Highly recommended!
What an awesome restaurant. Tasty food, and excellent wait staff! Our table got lots to share and everything was soooo good! Loved the spice! Very busy place, book in advance.
Hello beasty not only provides an amazing dining experience but an energetic exciting atmosphere. The decor is amazing, art styles fantastic, the staff are amazing and accomodating. The food is on point and they have a mixture of group tables and more intimate settings. I have enjoyed a meal at the kitchen and looking out to the harbour and have never been disappointed. This is definitely a place to try with a group of friends or a loved one. Nelly is a standout bartender and makes a killer espresso martini
We were treated to some tasty dishes here. My only wish is that more of the vegetarian options were vegan. The tare eggplant was my favourite and the KFC was also great.
