Unable to comment on accommodation as didn't see these. The beer garden area outside was wonderful for a Sunday lunch on a hot summer's day. Great selection of drink options. Menu is varied with something to please everyone. Service prompt and very friendly. Able to have our dog outside with us .. water bowls provided. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend
Downstairs, this venue is worth visiting. The staff are so friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. Upstairs, things change. It would rate as the worst night I have paid for, south of the equator. Apart from matters raised with management, I reported that, our neighbour snored which meant we couldn't get to sleep to ' fight ' back. I am assured there are renovations planned so that will make a huge difference. Have a look before you sign up is the best advice I can offer.
Absolutely Loved this place ! Is a must do ! By far the best place for a drink in Akaroa . Got an “adult slushy “ in the sun … really hit the spot. So decided to stay for dinner. Had live music ! Massive grounds ! Staff are so friendly, food is Amazing and great value. Kids had ample room to run around while we enjoyed a drink and were entertained . The large grounds are beautiful and recently refreshed you can tell the owners really care about service and quality! 20/10 ! Will be back
Whilst not central Akaroa, this was why we chose it as we made the trip with our Mini Club, so it was perfect for us all to find a park together for lunch on our New Years Eve trip. I had the fish tacos, which were every bit as good as I expected. The only thing that could have been improved on would have been a more streamlined meal ordering system as there was quite a queue/wait, but there were a lot of people wanting food. Despite being busy and us being a decent sized group, the food came out super quick. Would definitely return and will know about the giant Connect 4 to entertain the kids next time. Enjoying a gorgeous afternoon in their garden bar, icy cold drinks, delicious fluffy chips, just so good! Quick and friendly service. Large umbrella and beanbag areas, large connect four for the kids, just magic on a sunny afternoon :Rooms: 5/5
Nice atmosphere, live music was great. Steak was cooked perfectly as asked for. Probably the best steak meal I've ever eaten.Garlic bread and chips were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This is the best and the very first pub I’ve been to in my life. Great services, food was amazing, I don’t have anything else to say. My taxi driver is currently sleeping in your garden.Rooms: 5/5
Went for Christmas lunch. Had the salmon, nicely cooked, but the roast vegetables were thrown on the plate, the peas were raw and No butter as promised. Desert saved the day but only just. Was it worth $55. NO Noteworthy details: As above give it a score of 3/ 10.
What a great improvement this pub has made. We came a couple of years ago and thought to never return but the newly renovated outdoor area caught our eye recently and this weekend the live music was the thing that got us back. We have been two nights in a row and will definitely be back. We love: - live outdoor music - great vibe and atmosphere - friendly waitstaff - fast service - tables cleared even when it’s pumping - multiple bars - broad selection of drinks - wide menu to make everyone happy - awesome kids outdoor area away from the main pub crowd - excellent fries - kindness of kitchen for catering to us for small changes e.g. first night the kids didn’t like the crab in the fisherman’s basket and they happily swapped it out the next night Even better if: - the plastic glasses weren’t there, even straight from the can is better - the food was all fine for pubfood, but the some of the flavours advertised eg bbq overpowered a few of the dishes, where as other flavours like spicy were lacking. Typical of many similar places but tweaking could make it next level. We had baos, fisherman’s basket, hot chips, fried chicken, nachoes with pulled pork & spicy chicken burger over our visits and we’d happily have them again. The nachos were excellent. Love the necron on tap and the scapegrace cans.
Had a very pleasant early evening on Sat13 th January at the Grand fabulous weather and great outdoor setting.Our light food selection was excellent ,$60 for a bottle of bubbles we felt was a little excessive.As a absolute old music lover that would get up and dance at any occasion I felt the band if only played a few covers would have lifted the mood of the mixed age patrons considerably We appreciate your continued effort in bringing music to Akaroa.
