Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Duo. We came in for the Crayfish Menu but being massive piggies decided to order a few extra things as well. We started with the steak tartare and omg, I normally hate steak tartare don’t love the texture but this was amazing. Serving with the endive and Parmesan was an excellent idea.nWe then had the crayfish on cracker which was also amazing - real explosion of flavour offset nicely by the crisp crackernNext up was the crayfish brioche bun and once again was fabulous. The buttery sweet brioche contrasted nicely with the crayfishnNext up was the crayfish stuffed zucchini flower and this was ok, didn’t love the textures of the prawn and crayfish inside the zucchini flower. Felt very chunky and meatbally - would have been better more mousseynNext up was the crayfish pasta and this was good although not my favourite. Came with sides of fries and lettuce which felt a bit random.nWe also finished off with chocolate caramel dessert and this was also really good although felt this biscuit tasted a bit funny.nSuper friendly staff the owner served us and she was so friendly and nice. Allowed us to try the wine before we ordered a bottle which was great as we do not love our first picnWe left very happy and very full. Great way to celebrate my hubbys birthday
Duo came highly recommended by our friends, so naturally we had to try it for ourselves.nnThe 6 of us got a number of dishes to share and they - while it was good it was quite salty. The steak, salad and the truffle pasta didn’t quite hit the mark but the paua donut, fried cauliflower, burrata, pork, whole flounder and duck frites were delicious!nnThe atmosphere was great - relaxing with a cozy feeling. We could’ve chatted there for hours.nnOur waitress was lovely and friendly and even managed to make the crème brulee special for our friends special occasion.
Yum yum yum!!! the food here is sooo good and the vibe of the cafe is so nice. We got the duo breakfast, the raw beef on toast and the raw fish on toast all of which were absolutely delicious!! The drinks are also so yum and overall everything here is amaze. One thing i wish they would do is expand so that we won’t have to wait so long for a seat next time we come, but other than that i def recommend!
A favorite place the food is amazing. Different menus depending on time of day. Good wine selection. Is very busy, can be a bit noisy. Staff friendly and helpful. Busy area so parking can be a challenge but ok. Lovely area for a stroll with Gallery gift shop florist in area. A must to go to and recently rated in top 60 restaurants in Auckland.
I kept seeing the fish on toast pop up on instagram so I went and tried it for myself, it did not disappoint! One of my favourite brunch spots with the best food and lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu
