Crowded House Bar & Cafe

Nice atmosphere. Waitress was friendly. We ordered some beef steaks. They were all cooked very well. Only the sauce were a bit salty to us. Except that, we were happy and enjoy our dinner here.

Seafood Chowder was delicious. Ribs were tender but too sweet for us. Nice spacious place and friendly staff.

Amazing place...you have to go to the "crowded" for some beers/wines and a feed. Stopped here for a feed and beers and had a ball, awesome people and great atmosphere...so recommendedFood: 4/5

Great food that's why we go! Very large portions definitely get your money's worth. Good staff. Child menu, highchais & colouring in to keep them entertained. Is a sports bar and eatery so can get crowed with sports fans & drinkers but that's to be expected. Overall we enjoy dinning here.Food: 5/5

Staff friendly as always service is great unfortunately our food wasn’t. The surf and turf was really lacking seafood three shells but only two mussels and 2 prawns vegetables tasted funny and inedible the rib eye was cooked okay though. The great steak meal was very dry and over cooked even though cook was meant to be medium, the nicest part of that dish was the salad , kids loved their fish and chips though thank god . Unfortunately will dine elsewhere in the future

Great food but a couple of service details let them down. We got our meal in good time but no cutlery to eat it with, and after we had finished the plates were whisked off the table without a word. Light meals as well as steak chicken etc. Yummy looking range of desserts. Tables well sited for privacy, interesting decor, comfy seat. Nice suggestion by waitress for drink. Looks like they have different themes and specials every night of the week. Wish I lived in New Plymouth to visit again.

Great place in New Plymouth CBD for beer

It's the kind of place with a glossy menu, and a different special each day of the week. "Monday: ribs and a beer for $x". That should give you a clear picture. But, reasonable enough beer selection, typical food, spacious, etc, etc. If the words "Thursday night is steak night" bring a picture to your mind... This is that picture.

My son and I had lunch here and I loved the fish of the day with young potatoes and sweet peas. I have tried his omelet, and it was fluffy and tasty too. Generous pub portions good for extra long lunches or sharing. Good atmosphere, good prices and a TV is going. The staff are well presented and have good smiles. The location is in town and easy to spot.

Food is great! Compliments to the chef! Unfortunately service was not as great, it was stinking hot and we had no service to start with, every place I've been to is on with drinks at the tables right away, water jugs at the table while customers wait for service, especially on a hot day with no aircon in sight. I had to ask for service. The lady was nice enough but a little bit more enthusiasm in your job and making sure paying customers are happy is the go . All that aside we left with happy tummies!
