Great location. Nice view. Very friendly staff. Room was as expected, in my opinion it was comfortable but not very up to date, but it was in line with the price. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely stay there again.
The views are the best thing about this place. The rooms are clean but dated and a bit tired. The restaurant was awful, the food was very basic and not done well at all. I was the only one in it and I am not surprised. Easy walk into town, but a steep walk to come home.
I paid $378 a night for a room with no view, despite the picture showing a lake view. No room service, no restaurant. No offer of compensation for the false advertisement. After complained to a third person she offered me $20 credit for the most basic buffet breakfast I’ve ever seen. I cancelled my second night there and would have cancelled my first if I had the opportunity. Completely ripped off. Staff were mostly dismissive and don’t care. The hotel is so dated and has barely had anything upgraded since the 90’s. They won’t do anything about it though because people keep booking.
Pretty average price for a hotel that’s in Queenstown, but parking doesn’t seem to be that sufficient. You do get relatively easy access to the covered parking lots from Suburb St W or Frankton Rd S. Layout can be a bit confusing but you eventually get used to it, there’s even a restroom on the floor we were staying at. We got a superior lakeview room, I think this is the main selling point of this hotel. The architecture and layout provided a magnificent view of Lake Wakatipu. The bed, pillows, comforter and blankets were all plush offering us a good night’s sleep. Walls seem to be pretty insulated, we didn’t hear anything from the hallways or neighbors. That or there weren’t any other folks checked in. The place to organize stuff in the entry hallway that’s in front of the rest/bathroom was pretty handy. The TV was on the small side. The balcony with the view was really awesome though.
Stayed here for 5 nights. Room was worn, dated and had obvious damage in areas. Shower floor was tiled and uneven. Booked Superior 1 Queen bed, got given a twin room instead. Cigarette butts on the balcony. Lots of condensation in the room. Put sign up for housekeeping, went out for 5 hours and room was not made up on return. Ate at restaurant only once. Bar did not have coke who doesn't have coke??!! food was obviously pre-made and reheated, was expensive and bland, much better to get Uber eats to room. Room was near hotel laundry which was very loud and constant 24/7 made it hard to sleep. Layout not easy to navigate. Rooms had physical keys and not cards, and only given one even though two guests. Staff were friendly enough. Very disappointing. Do not stay here.
