Food for the soul!nnSo glad to have finally tried Chur. We were both newbies and couldn’t have been more welcomed by the staff who were friendly and efficient. This is by best the best fish and chips I’ve had since being in NZ in the last 6 years. The fish was delicious but for me it was the cook on the chips! Like they are just like British ones, I couldn’t believe it. I had heard many people recommend them but lake Hayes to FernHill is quite the distance but 100% worth it.nnWe will be back! For those who haven’t tried it yet run don’t walk!nnI suggest ordering online and collecting. Otherwise you can have a drink next door whilst you wait for your hot and delicious food.nnBonus - They do Curry sauce and it’s epic!
We ordered fish and chips and we got chips and salt with a little bit of fish. We had to shake the salt of all of the chips and by the time we were done there was a large amount of salt on the paper. Our fish consisted of several very small pieces. Some parts were oily. We were charged 3 dollars for a small amount of ketchup. Maybe that's normal here but not in America where ketchup is always free. Overall, just a so-so experience.
Fish was so fresh and though I am not a fan of batter they did not serve grilled fish their batter was light and enjoyable. Scallop and prawns were delicious and so fresh, I’d highly recommend. Calamari batter was perhaps too thick.
Brooooo!!! Really solid fish and chips!! the kumara and potato chips are worth flying over the ocean for. Perfectly timed cooking, crispy and fluffy.
I recently visited Chur Fish and Chips in Queenstown and was thoroughly impressed. The blue cod was so exceptional that I ordered it twice! Each serving featured fresh, flaky fish cooked to perfection. The hand-cut chips were equally delightful, crispy, airy, and seasoned just right. The staff were friendly and efficient, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. For anyone seeking top-notch fish and chips in Queenstown, Chur is a must-visit.
