Location was fantastic, only a short 5min walk from town. It did include a small hill to walk back up to the hotel but this was no problem, especially given the views the hotel boasted from our room and restaurant. Our room was clean, modern and very comfortable. We stayed in a king room with balcony and lake view, and my golly it was a stunning view. The bed was roomy and very comfortable and shower pressure spot on. Breakfast which we included in our booking, was delicious with a great variety of options. And we enjoyed the evening happy hour at the end of each day. It was a lovely gesture for the hotel to offer a daily $10 voucher to be used at Lombardi Bar during happy hour, if you chose to opt out of your daily room housekeeping. We were unfortunately startled a couple of times by the sound of a baby crying through the adjoining locked door between our room and the next door room. It was our first weekend away from our own young children, so when I heard the baby crying I jumped up wondering if it were our own! So next time we booked with St Moritz, we would enquire with hotel to see if we could have a room without an adjoining door.
Summary: This hotel is in a great location - walking distance to the city center though it’s on a steep hill, fyi. Other than this, our stay here was rough, completely as a result of poor communication from all functions within the hotel. Would recommend staying at other hotels in the same area. Details: The most frustrating part was that the hotel was replacing carpets during our stay and we were not notified of it at all. The entire floor we were staying on smelled like paint remover for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was getting carpets replaced and there were nails sticking out from the floor! With no blocking off of the area! It was nuts. They did comp us for parking because of this inconvenience… after I mentioned this as feedback at checkout. Last but not least, the restaurant staffer made a mistake writing down our room number for breakfast & when we clarified at checkout, she came out yelling at us, and telling us we were “accusing her of lying.” Just, wild. Definitely not 5-star service / communication.
Good location on edge of the town. For the price we expected more. Rooms are good, not 5 star level. Careful if you have a lakeside suite. Not all actually have a view of the water. No AC in rooms but can request a fan. Maid service seems understaffed. Some days they wouldn't turn down or we'd need to specifically track someone down to do it. Generally seemed understaffed throughout hotel. Very mediocre cleaning when they did. Queenstown is great, this accommodation is not the best value.
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip and loved the experience! They helped us book a last minute room as we had to move from another unclean place and they were very accomodating. The hotel is right next to town but still quiet and has beautiful views of the lakeside. Highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5
Thank you to Sophie, Claire, Sylvia and all the team behind the scenes that made our stay at St. Moritz so memorable. Nothing ever goes to plan on holiday and the little hiccups we had were so professionally dealt with. Of course the hotel speaks for itself with expansive rooms and beautiful appointments. It’s the people who work at the hotel that make the stay so great. Thank you very much for making a warm and cosy stay as comfortable as a home away from home could be!
Enjoyed my 3 night stay here. Room with balcony & fantastic view, clean, comfy bed, quite spacious for 2 and excellent daily breakfast. Close to the wharf, shops and restaurants, short but steep hill for the walk back. Good despite staff shortages.Rooms: 5/5
After deciding to treat ourselves to a Lakeview balcony room we expected to have an amazing view of the lake and surrounding mountains. We were unfortunately given a room on level 3 of the hotel which should be classed as an obstructed view as you’re at eye level with the building in front of the hotel. After speaking with reception it appeared that they agreed this is a common complaint from guests, although they were not able to offer us a higher room or any compensation besides a lazy free drink. It was a disappointing experience and we may have walked away happy if this was dealt with better.
So close to town and easy to access! The service was good, with a seamless checkin. I have a room on the 2nd floor reception / street level is on the 4th floor. The elevator down is quite oddly placed- although seems a recent add, so therefore welcomes guests who aren’t able to use stairs which is great. I would certainly stay again. And look forward to the restaurant actually serving tapas , which the sign suggests , rather than a limited menu.
