Pro: Restaurant was on level 6 so the view was great. Cons: we paid $37 per pax to dine in for breakfast and was not impressed. Variety was sufficient - egg station, salad, bacon/sausages, bread; however certain items like smoked salmon took a very long time to replenish and the plate was always empty. Even as they were alerted that it was empty, staff took a long time to replenish it’s as if they are trying to limit customer’s intake . Egg station took forever as well even though there were not many people. Service was slow and poor, with many staff hardly smiling nor clearing dishes actively when prompted. Sometimes the staff would ask another person to take over even when you asked him for help. I could tell that most were not happy working here. Food quality was sub par too. Salad was wilted and sausage was hard and salty. Croissant and pastry were cold. The nearest breakfast place was 15mins walk away from the hotel. If I’m coming to Queenstown again I’d probably stay somewhere nearer to the food places. A staff saw us leaving as she was wiping the countertop and did not even look up as we leave. Service was really poor.
There are lots of hits in Queenstown but for us this was a GIANT miss! We went for breakfast to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food selection was minimal, the food was cold and the service was very average. After visiting QT on the Gold Coast which was amazing we were disappointed to discover this is a brand that is site dependant. The only upside was the spectacular view!!!! All 3 of us walked away very disappointed.
Their $2 oysters are a bargain. Lake view windows. 80 different kind of gins if you are into that. Friendly staff. Went there twice for happy hour. Enjoyed it.Service: 5/5
We had a larte cart breakfast here as we weren't hungry enough to eat the buffet. The lady that served us at the bar was very friendly and let us eat at the bar next to Bazaar restaurant near the windows. She provided great service and made us feel welcome. The barista coffees were so good we ordered 2 each, and the eggs were cooked fresh and made perfectly. We were also surprised at the price reasonably priced considering it's a hotel restaurant with these stunning water views. Highly recommend for those looking for light to medium sized breakfast. We recommend ordering large coffees as the small size you'll want two as they taste so good!
The place was very clean. The service was top tier. The food options available were so delicious. Would definitely visit again. Went with vegetarian friends and there was a lot of options available! Vegetarian options: Great options available
Very dissapointed with the Rydges hotel and the room we had... But the restaurant and breakfast was beautiful. Great value for money especially. But actually all of the food was fresh and tasty and really enjoyed. Clean, modern restaurant unlike the building and rooms with beautiful views. We will definitely revisit Bazar when back in queenstown. Yum! Kid-friendliness: Young children are FREE. She loved being able to pick a little bit of everything!
Bazaar was a bit of a deception. Knowing the price and reading the opinions we were expecting much more of Bazaar. The atmosphere is awesome, beautiful views and the staff is very nice and helpful. It's a nice idea specially if you are hungry and you enjoy a buffet. They have different areas but some of them, like the fish and the meat dont have enough variety. The quality of the food isnt enough for the price and you dont have any drink included. We won't come back unless there is an offer. As for lower price it would be a nice place to go.
Before booking a table for dinner at Bazaar, we did our usual research. It was described as buffet on steroids. However, when we arrived, the ambiance and the staff were on point, but we were truly disappointed with the food. The food presentation was very good, but the flavors just weren't there. There were very limited options, it definitely wasn't worth $79 per person for dinner. P.S. The food options that you see in the photo is already 2/3 of what you'll get. Just add the dessert bar and zoom in on the photo that doesn't show a close-up of the food that's where the meat/ roast, 1 soup, 1 pasta, 1 or 2 more food options are.
This is the place to treat yourself and those you want to impress to a lovely evening out. The food selection is great with fresh Seafood, variety of healthy tasty Salads, a good Cheese selection, an Asian selection and a themed selection which was smoked on this occasion. An american theme with amazing flavoured meats and dishes from spicy to tasty, with an array of complimenting sauces. The desert bar had a great selection and they also had a sweet tooth selection for kids of all ages! You really are paying for what you get here which is a great selection of delicious food, lovely friendly service and a beautiful scenic view of the mountains hugging Lake Wakatipu. Did i mention the extensive beverage menu? Highly Recommend
I love coming here! The atmosphere is outstanding! The service is pretty good! Definitely need more seafood though. Epic views too!
