Briscoes the brand is lovely and I like the range in-store. Also love the constant sales on. And often a nice display in the entrance promoting furniture.nBut this store always seems messy, under stocked, and understaffed and today’s visit was the same.
I was assisted quickly by a very knowledgeable helpful and personable woman, Vanessa, who really knew her department. I found the store tidy and clean, although stock numbers dont seem to be consistent and some things are challenging to find. I only shop Briscoes when needed items are on sale no sale prices are grossly inflated but overall, Briscoes usually provides good products and has a good range.
Everything you need for your home and plenty of other stuff you never knew you needed from bedding to kitchenware , laundry and so on. Reasonable prices and even better of you can get it during one of frequent sales. Well stocked with wide range of items from lower to higher quality and prices, something for everyone’s budget. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff treating everyone with smile and kindness.
Complete shambles in most isles. Yes, I'm aware of the time of year/sales etc but was a hazard throughout the store. I have worked in retail for over 40yrs, including large stores and would never leave it in such a state. Even if some isles were tidied, not all. At least some effort to show work in progress.nMaybe a few staff could work after hours or before opening on these days?
I bought a “HILTON Healthy Living” NZ Made pillow from Briscoes because it looked like a good-quality local product with a 3-year warranty.nBut the pillow completely collapsed after the first use — it had no support at all. Even using two pillows together didn’t help; both sides lifted and pressed against my neck.nnI contacted Briscoes and was told it wasn’t faulty, only that I “didn’t like it.” I still brought it back for inspection, but the store refused a refund.nnI’m really disappointed. The quality of this product is far below what the label suggests, and Briscoes should take responsibility for selling items that are not fit for purpose.
