The tree cutting and mulching service that worked in our street at 8:15am this morning blocked my driveway without notice, making it difficult for residents heading to work. While tree maintenance is important, better communication would go a long way in helping locals prepare for disruptions. A simple notice beforehand would be much appreciated.
This council just wants your money. I parked my car in front of my house, and there is no sign for that area says I can’t park. I parked for so long and everyone did that. But one day, I got a fine in the morning. Because I parked in front of my house! What’s wrong with parking in front of my house? I asked why I got the fine, but no one responded. I sent my request said, if I can’t park, please use a sign telling us. And no reply. Fine. I don’t know what to say. In my request, I said residents are not your ATM machine. Please respect us and do the right thing.
By reading all the comments here it is obvious that this council is full of money hungry heartless people who have the similar type working as parking inspectors.nnMy very sick husband was literally dropped off at a non operating bus zone for less than 30 seconds while I drove off to find a carpark because there wasn't any in the street. He literally failed his stress test and collapsed that day and had to have 5 stents put in that's why he could hardly walk to his appointment and why I had to use the bus zone. I provided all the evidence to this when I received the infringement notice but despite this they said my reason was not sufficient for them to waive the fine....you disgust me Box Hill Council...so heartless!nnKarma will come for you as it always does when people are money hungry with no regard or empathy for anyone else and their circumstances!
Absolutely worst customer experience. I got my parking fine Sep 2024 at box hill for $198. I paid the fine on the exact same day that I received it. However, they keep sending me mail for late penalties and saying they can “tow” away my car if I don’t pay my fines. I called the council and told me that they fined me twice on the exact same day, on the same spot in less than 2 hours. The second fine was not even given to me on my car windows, making me not realise until half a year later when I called them.nnI wrote emails to them on their customer service email as well, but no responses came. Even on the phone, they couldn’t locate the mail I sent.nnThe calling process also takes forever to make through, even employees telling me to call “the next day”. I had to explain everything over and over again 3 times straight for all the calls. When they told me they will call me back on the afternoon, I got absolutely no response whatsoever and had to call them back myself. When the call went through, they said they were about to call me, but I have doubt since it was around 4:40, and they close at 5.nnIn the end, absolute terrible work in the officers giving fines. Terrible communication from the customer services. Everything is terrible.
This council is so heartless. Visited my father in the Hospital. Bought a 2 hour ticket. Went out to purchase another 2 hour ticket to come out and have been issued a fine. I challenged the fine with them to be told that I didn't move the car. What bullshit rule is that. Where is this displayed for the public to know. I went back to the area to check and NO SIGNAGE. Their reasoning is that all drivers are given the opportunity to have that space. So I am then driving around looking for another park while my sick father is in the hospital. You are clearly taking advantage of vulnerable people visiting their loved ones.nWhen I revisited the area to look for any signage I spoke to a lady that had also parked there that evening. She had no idea of that ridiculous rule either, nor did she have a ticket for being there over the 2 hour time frame. So this rule is only in motion during the day and not night time.nSpoke to a parking inspector in the Albert Park vicinity and again he had never heard of such a scam. I spoke to 3AW regarding this and their assumption was spot on. They are not concerned about the parking being fair for all but how much money they can collect. PUT SIGNAGE UP!!!!!nPity when one of your loved ones is in hospital.nKarma will come.
