Story

Watergate Restaurant & Lounge Bar is located in the heart of Port Douglas, at the corner of Grant and Macrossan Street, behind Rotary Park. Enter down the flame lit path from Macrossan Street to find the perfect hidden gem for lunch, dinner, tapas or a mouth-watering cocktail.

The restaurant seats up to 120 guests with both indoor sections and outdoor (under cover) dining decks surrounded by lush tropical gardens and tranquil flames.

The cuisine is Modern Australian, with an asian twist, encapsulating our modern tropical lifestyle. Our Executive Chef sources fresh, seasonal produce to prepare innovative and enticing dishes, which reflect contemporary trends in Australasian cooking.

Watergate also has a modern well appointed bar and extensive lounge area, ideal for cocktails at sunset, or tapas and a bottle of wine… The perfect way to unwind after a busy week or eventful day. The lounge is a great place to meet friends, enjoy pre-dinner drinks or indulge in desserts and coffee to finish off your evening.

Great food.  The pork belly and the crocodile entrees were delicious.  Couldn't recommend this more.  Friendly, casual staff and interesting atmosphere in among the trees.

This restaurant was amazing in every way. The ambience was incredible, as was the food and service from the waiter, David. Thank you so much- we will definitely come back again!!

Great service. Friendly and fast. Food was amazing from entrees to desert. Great atmosphere so rare to look around and see no one on their phones. Highly recommend.

This was the BEST restaurant in port douglas. This is the only venue that I wanted to return to to try all the different dishes. If you go to 1 place for dinner this has to be it!!! Venue gorgeous, staff lovely... what more can I say? GO!!!

My partner and I visited this evening for dinner and are so happy, impressed and satisfied!  The food was absolutely delicious and Ging, provided such brilliant and friendly service.  Thank you for making tonight a great experience, Ging!
