Whilst it's a 30 minute drive from Port Douglas, it is worth the shuttle trip to have a meal here. We went for lunch, and whilst the menu is not substantial, there was some great meals to choose. Fish of the day was Pan fried King fish in a lemon butter sauce. Deserts were excellent, and the barman made one of the best Gin Dry Martini's in the area. The views are great, and you can walk off lunch in the tropical rainforest surrounds.
This is a wonderful restaurant to sit back, relax, enjoy the sounds of the birds and the sights and atmosphere of the rainforest and ocean. The meals are delicious. The service exceptional. But what truly elevates this restaurant is its locale. After lunch, maybe go for a stroll down to the private beach and just enjoy the serenity. The walk back up to your car will undoubtedly make you feel as though you’ve earnt that dessert.
We finally enjoyed a lovely lunch here after meaning to visit on previous trips to Port Douglas. It was a short drive and then once we arrived at the car park, we called reception and they transferred us to the restaurant in a golf buggy, giving us an opportunity to see the resort and the lovely surrounds. As mentioned by others, the view from the restaurant is absolutely spectacular and the ambience was delightful. While the menu has a concise selection, each of our dishes packed a punch which great flavours and fresh produce. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we particularly enjoyed the trip back where our driver pointed out the islands and told us about the history of the resort. It’s a beautiful spot and we’ll defiantly return.
While the temptation of lunch in Port Douglas was strong, we booked Ospreys at the last moment and we couldn't have been happier. Amazing views, great views & friendly staff. We couldn't resist the Chicken Katsu sandwich and the deserts, which were not only great tasting, but beautiful.
Lovely resturant in a lovely setting. Would recommend getting there prior to sunset so you get the full experience. The cocktails were nice and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. There is accommodation at Thala and Osprays is the open air resturant. We had a table at the edge of the resturant which gave a lovely view. The food was very nice and the cocktails were refreshing.
Great lunch at Osprey’s Restaurant with nice ocean and bush views. The crocodile bao bun and barramundi fish and chips were highlights. We also had the pork belly ragu and tandoori curry with rice.
What a gorgeous view you get while enjoying lunch and drinks with friends. Spacious restaurant and table seating, a very relaxed atmosphere. Lunch menu wasn't extensive though great food and drinks on offer regardless.
Absolutely beautiful!! The food was delicious, staff were excellent and the view was amazing. Will be back if we're ever in the area again!
Totally recommended Great food and service. I had chicken sando and my partner had the sourdough with beef. Also had fresh coconut.
Tony the Head Chef quite frankly rocks! Amazing food from him, kitchen and service staff are fabulous! Dietary restrictions: Fodmaps
