We had dinner here and everything was exceptional! The ambience is a 10/10! I found myself constantly looking up and around my surroundings because it was so beautiful! We had the 5 course tasting menu which was absolutely amazing which we paired it off with lychee cocktails. Towards the end of our night, the owner came around to check how everything was which really made our night. He was a such a lovely genuine guy! Would definitely recommend! The staff were also really lovely! Would advise booking ahead as the place does book out!
What a beautiful experience! Everything was perfect from the food, the lovely waitress down to the small little details. Possibly the nicest food I've had with so much flavour and the perfect texture. They don't put any pressure on you to rush your food and actually ask of you'd like a break between courses, which we thought was a nice touch. This is one you wouldn't want to miss in Port Douglas.
The hospitality and friendliness of the wait staff was world class. Each one of girls made dining at Nautilus a memorable experience. It was a nice touch for the owner and chef to say hello to us. Special thanks to Julie Andrews for her entertaining service. The food was absolutely amazing. As my mate said throughout the night " the blending of flavours was bangin'!" Each course amd cocktail was exquisite and perfect. Serving size were just right. It was cool to eat outside, with warm weather, amongst the plants. When it started to rain a little, the roof covers were pulled over to keep us dry. Prices were reasonable for the wonderful experience. Highly recommended to put your name on the waiting list to get the chance to dine at Nautilus. Absolutely amazing! Worth every cent. It is a whole experience - the venue is breathtaking, the staff are so attentive and the food could not be better! Highly recommend adding the matched wines too
One of the best fine dining experience sitting among the trees in Port Douglas. The food was amazing. The service was attentive. Worth doing the wine pairing.
Nautilus are to be congratulated on the radical change they have made to their dining experience with their 5 course tasting offering. We have been dining at Nautilus for over 20 years but in that time there had been little change to the menu choices and to be frank we were running out of options! The new 5 course tasting is fantastic and great value. Personally we found the scallops, duck and steak offerings sensational. Well done Nautilus we will be back again soon!
Food and the atmosphere were both amazing. You couldn’t find anything like this in the area. Staff were super friendly, nice, and attentive. However, there was a waitstaff male and middle aged, who didn’t appear to be invested in his job We were there to surprise 2 birthdays and while one of the birthday girls went to the bathroom, they prepared to bring the cake dessert with candles. Despite advising him that one of the birthday girls is not at the table, he responded by rising his shoulders indicating that he does not care and proceed with bringing the desserts to the table. Only it took this action to bring down the whole positive experience, while he could have waited just a minute to so for the girl to return to her table and proceed by surprising her. Having said this, will try them again but definitely will speak to the management next time. Once of the photos below shows the birthday dessert dish placed on the table while the person still was in the bathroom.
We had an amazing 7 course meal with matching wines & were not disappointed. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, it was a great experience.
We have heard great reviews about this place from local and international people. Dining experience for me consists of people, food and atmosphere. The ambiance and setting is beautiful here. It is 10/10 set up. Under the star, in the rainforest. I loved it. That being said, the minus two starts were for the food and the staff. Two of our friends were very excited for the oyster but no one told us that oyster were not available for the night until we sat. Food was good but I do think food is overpriced for what it is. Staff did not get the order right the first time. We ordered kingfish, lamb cutlets and lobster dumplings as entrees. They served us cooked food first and then kingfish later because they forgot our kingfish order. Our mango mocktails were delicious.
Our long awaited dining experience at Nautilus did not disappoint. First impressions when arriving up the long path was a big wow moment, taking in the unique restaurant. All staff members were warm, welcoming & quietly efficient with minimal fuss. We were looked after by Maryanne, who was wonderful - she ensured my fiancee was able to swap out a course that he didn't like. As a vegetarian, I was in heaven with the vegetarian tasting menu - it was creative, delicious and satisfying. The matched wines were delightful as were the cocktails and champagne we started with. We would highly recommend Nautilus for a truly special experience.
