Stayed recently for a one night getaway and had a perfect time. Helpful staff got the room ready for us to check in early, which was very much appreciated. The mini fridge/snack area was a lovely addition, having snacks and also other miscellaneous things. Loved the soaps in the bathroom, they smelt lovely. The rooftop pool was amazing! Thank you W Sydney! We will definitely be visiting again.
Beautiful details throughout the hotel. Room was well appointed and quite spacious. View of the harbor is pretty, and particularly fantastic for NYE fireworks in Darling Harbor. Service requests were fulfilled promptly and pleasantly by friendly and polite hotel staff. The complimentary breakfast for Marriott elite guests was also very tasty and made life easier for our 5 day stay. Highly recommend.nnThe only downside is that it can be a bit difficult to find the hotel by car.
Our stay at W Sydney was awesome—this place has serious style! The modern decor is super cool, and every piece of furniture feels like it was handpicked to stand out. The view of Darling Harbour was stunning and so expansive. We kept saying how amazing it would’ve been if we had booked on a fireworks night.nnAs a family, we loved every bit of it. The huge round bathtub was a total hit—the kids couldn’t get enough of it! The hotel just has this really great vibe, and you can’t beat the location. Everything we wanted to do was right there, so it made getting around super easy.nnHaving two pools in the hotel was awesome. Each pool faces a different direction, which is pretty cool. The kids missed out on the rooftop pool on Sunday since it’s adults-only, but we made the most of it and loved the relaxed vibe up there.nnThe service was on point. Everything we asked for—extra pillows, ice, room service—showed up faster than we expected, which was a nice surprise.nnOverall, W Sydney nailed it with style, comfort, and service. If you’re looking for a place with amazing views, a great location, and a little something for everyone, this is it!
Upon arrival, there was no offer to assist with our luggage either at the reception desk or to our room. The receptionist was unfamiliar with the package I had booked. The breakfast area was busy, but the service was generally good.nnWe ordered room service, including butter chicken and pasta. Unfortunately, the butter chicken was bland with no flavor, and some pieces of the chicken were undercooked. The pasta was extremely salty and had dried out by the time it arrived in the room. Additionally, none of the food in the hot box had covers, which was concerning.nnThe room itself was acceptable but showed signs of wear and tear. The bathroom had some mold, and the main swimming pool closed at 6 pm, seemingly to encourage guests to visit the rooftop bar instead. The second pool was quite small compared to those at other major 5-star hotels.nnCheck-out was frustrating; we had to allow at least 30 minutes due to only four staff members handling check-outs.nnOverall, I believe you could get a better experience for the same price at a nearby hotel. It's disappointing to see such a difference in service between W Sydney and other W Hotels around the world.
The room was clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the staff were friendly.nnThe infinity pool was fully occupied at 4PM, but there were plenty of spots at 6AM.nnComplimentary cocktail vouchers required ordering food due to a Christmas policy. Understandable, but prior notice would have been appreciated.nnDespite using express checkout as recommended, I later received a $65 charge for minibar or room service items I never used. While it was quickly corrected over the phone, no explanation was given for the mistake.nnIt’s a beautiful luxury hotel, but the management fell short of expectations. It seems like this hotel provided comfortable bedding just to keep me awake with stress after checkout.
