We chose the W Hotel Darling Harbour to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our first time doing so with our children. While the hotel is modern, clean, and well-equipped, the overall experience felt underwhelming for a five-star property.nnDespite calling ahead to inform the hotel that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, there was no acknowledgment upon arrival. The check-in experience felt impersonal and more akin to a budget hotel, which was disappointing given the brand and price point.nnThe room itself was comfortable and had complete amenities. Highlights included a spacious walk-in wardrobe and a beautiful bathtub, which our kids especially enjoyed.nnWe had high hopes that the $60 buffet breakfast would elevate the experience, but unfortunately it was average. Some hot items, including the baked beans and sausages, were served cold and undercooked. Positives were the eggs cooked to order, decent coffee, and friendly breakfast service.nnOverall, the stay did not meet our expectations. Having stayed at several 4–5 star hotels, we felt the experience did not offer good value, particularly for families. We would likely choose alternatives such as Crown Towers in the future. Each to their own, but this property would not be our first choice.
What an Amazing 7 Nights stay at the W Sydney in Australia. Upon check in the Staff starting with Mr Johan was Magnificent & absolutely Customer Service oriented! My entire stay was met with constant Smiles & Hello’s upon greeting me. I’m so Glad to be a member of Marriott Bonvoy & to have experienced my stay at this Immaculate hotel. I will never forget the Hospitality I received throughout my 7 days stay at the W Sydney! Thank You to the entire staff and support staff! I’ll certainly make sure upon my return to Sydney I stay at this state of the art Hotel! Two Thumbs Up!!!

We had such an amazing experience staying at the W Hotel Sydney in room 2038. The customer service was exceptional from start to finish, and a special thank you to Satpal for going above and beyond to look after us during our stay. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made our experience so much better. His attention to detail and kindness did not go unnoticed. Thank you again for such a memorable stay. we can’t wait to come back!
We just checked out today from W Sydney and honestly rated our experience 10/10. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredibly welcoming. Staff came straight over to help with our bags and gave us such a warm and genuine welcome.nnWe were also given a very generous early check-in after arriving from a very early flight, which meant so much as I’m currently pregnant and was absolutely exhausted. Small gestures like this really go a long way and made us feel so cared for.nnAnother thing that truly stood out was how accommodating the team was. During the night, because of my pregnancy food aversions, I was struggling to find something I could eat, and the staff kindly organised cereal and breakfast items for me even though it wasn’t normally available at that time. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.nnEvery single staff member we encountered was absolutely delightful. The hotel itself is such a vibe, beautifully designed, spotless, and clearly maintained to a very high standard. Even the glass mirrors in the elevators were immaculate every time we used them, with not a single mark on them.nnThe rooftop pool is also absolutely beautiful and such a nice place to chill, relax, and unwind with incredible views!nIt really added to the whole experience and made the stay feel extra special.nnI just want to say a huge thank you to W Sydney for making my birthday feel so special and for creating such a relaxing and comfortable stay during my pregnancy. A special thank you as well to the staff who blew up balloons for me, such a thoughtful touch that really showed how much you go above and beyond for your guests, something that feels very rare in hospitality these days.nnWe’ll definitely be back!
