My stay at the Hyatt Sydney was nothing short of amazing. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city with views that are simply breathtaking. The club level is worth every bit—the staff there made our time truly special with their warm hospitality, great food, and endless drinks. The omelettes at breakfast were perfection, and little touches like the crushed ice and water machine to refill my bottle were surprisingly thoughtful.nnThe rooftop club was a highlight—stylish, comfortable, and the perfect spot to take in the cityscape. I also loved winding down at the Dundee Bar, which had a great atmosphere and solid cocktails.nnHonestly, everything about the stay was flawless… except for one small hiccup. Our check-in experience with a staff member named Carl was less than stellar and didn’t match the otherwise world-class service the Hyatt is known for. Luckily, the rest of the team more than made up for it.nnOverall, a fantastic experience that I’d recommend to anyone visiting Sydney. I can’t wait to come back.
Hyatt are our Go-To for accommodation in Sydney. The concierge can’t be beaten, the rooms are always as expected high quality, we love the window seat & the buffet breakfast is the best of anywhere I’ve ever found. When there have been issues with our stay, Hyatt have made every effort to rectify. They are reliable and a pleasure to stay with.
Great hotel in Darling Harbour area of Sydney. The rooms are nice especially the ones overlooking the Darling Harbour. Staff is very courteous and the breakfast options are good. Get off at town hall train station to access the hotel. Easy access to nearby restaurants and cafés. Public transportation access is also great.
I recently stayed at Hyatt Sydney, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing, especially as a World of Hyatt Globalist member.nnAt check-in, I arrived with my wife and handed over two passports. The front desk staff said that only one registration was necessary, and even reminded me that I could enjoy breakfast at the ground floor restaurant as a Globalist. However, when I went for breakfast the next morning, the staff told me that my room only included one breakfast. I explained that I was a Globalist, but the response was cold and dismissive. I was told that since only one person was registered, the second guest could only receive a discount and still had to pay.nnI went back to the front desk to clarify the issue. Carl from the front desk confirmed that only one guest was registered, but said he had no authority to resolve the matter and asked me to find someone else. At no point did anyone attempt to take ownership of the problem or provide a genuine solution.nnWhat disappointed me the most was not just the registration mistake, but the lack of service mindset throughout the entire process. The front desk at check-in should have ensured the registration was correct, the restaurant staff could have proactively helped confirm my Globalist benefit, and Carl should have at least apologized and tried to resolve the issue rather than simply stating he had no authority.nnAs a Globalist, I expect Hyatt properties to provide thoughtful and solution-oriented service, but here I only received cold explanations without accountability. This left me questioning whether I should continue choosing Hyatt in the future.
This is an awesome base to explore the city. Darling Harbour is right on your doorstep, there are a number of good restaurants and pubs in the area. The breakfasts were amazing, staff super friendly and everyone is working at making your stay as good as possible. The rooftop bar is well worth a visit with excellent views.
