I experienced the elegance of a 5-star hotel, along with the beauty and convenience of the building. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was clean and well-maintained. The staff checked to ensure there were no inconveniences and accommodated all of my requests perfectly. I had a delightful time enjoying a healthy breakfast and delicious coffee.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is just perfect, with Martin Place and the light rail close by. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking—it felt like stepping back to the Middle Ages when I gazed at the bell tower. The bed was super comfy, just the right balance between soft and firm.nnI also want to extend a big thank you to the housekeeping staff; they were well-trained and provided top-notch service! I definitely plan to return during my next visit to Sydney.nnI do have a small suggestion for the reception staff: I noticed that one of the women, a lovely girl with black skin, could use a bit more cheerfulness in her interactions with guests. A smile can go a long way! Overall, though, a wonderful experience!
Incredible ! Beautiful rooms - we had a high floor! Recommended! We had an in room meal, salad was delicious! Beds are from another world - quality linen, beautiful doonas, air-con was so lovely too. The bathroom and bath was completely indulgent and the makeup mirror in the bathroom was a nice addition! Finally a 5 start hotel that delivers. Customer service on point.
Location wise, perfect. Great cafes within walking distance.nnStayed 6 nights here and we loved it! I did the tour and the guide was all fun and knowledgeable! Forgot his name but he was spanish. Absolutely interesting to learn and reminisce the way the building used to operate and the gossip around it!nnThe room is all clean, hot water runs great, room service was quick, staff were attentive, the burgers was , just great experience overall.nnI would love to comeback and stay here again in the future!
Went there again for lunch 9 months later. The lunch set options have changed so it was good to try them out. My friends ordered barramundi and I had beef brisket. Both were on par, not particularly fantastic, given the price of the set meal, but service was still good.nHowever, this time, I only gave a 4 star because there was a black out in the hotel and it went into a bit of chaos, lifts were not working, which is logical, but everything else were not either. The restrooms were completely out! Taps had no water, toilets no flush, no emergency light in the fully enclosed compartments for ladies. You can imagine quite a few ladies in the toilet were in a little commotion. Then getting down also became an issue because the electric door at the bottom of the stairs would not open. So we were escorted to go down to the main lobby via fire escape stairways into some back end staff area to go back out to the lobby, which by then was crowded with guests who were not able to check in because computers were down. Normally, I would not have bothered to write a review because the outage was not really their fault. Yet, given the outage had been on and off at Martin Place for a few days already because of Sydney Water works, I would have imagined the hotel would already have a better contingency plan for crowd moving. This also calls for a better design on the toilets ,in particular, for a manual back up. I have been to hotels where there is a manual handle for toilet flush in case of electrical failure. Being a 5 star hotel and without a decent backup plan for incidents as such was rather disappointing. Spare a thought for those in the hotel rooms at that precise moment!
