My husband and I stayed at the Fullerton Hotel for a night in May 2024 and it is safe to say it is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in in Sydney. I absolutely loved its amazing historic interior, beautiful architecture and great views. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and well maintained and our bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. It almost felt we were staying at a palace rather than a hotel oh and not to mention the friendly staff and nice bar. I was also amazed by how quiet it was despite the hotel located in a busy area. Our stay was perfect and I wish we had stayed an extra night. We felt so comfortable and happy in our room and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and you won’t regret it. It’s perfect for a small family or a couple looking at having a romantic weekend together in the heart of the city of Sydney. We will 100% return.
Had an absolutely beautiful time at the Fullerton for my 21st Birthday last weekend. We were greeted by Maddie upon checking in who was the absolute definition of grace and professionalism! She set us off on just the right note with her attention to detail and customer service, going above and beyond to make it a special trip for us. The room was beautiful, a plethora of quality amenities, comfortable furniture and a great location to boot. Thank you very much to everyone at the Fullerton for a very special weekend, and special thank you to Maddie- you’re a star! x
Experience with Fullerton Hotel Sydney is unpleasant. Few problems occurred during the stay.nn1. Cleanliness: found dirty socks from the previous guest still remained inside the room. Made you wonder whether the room is properly clean as five star luxury hotel standardnn2. Water pressure and temperature control issues for shower: so low and not able to control between cold and hot water. Requested the front desk to fix it in the morning. Came back to hotel in the afternoon. And the response from front desk was so disappointed. Engineer has fixed it but hotel cannot guarantee it. Is it the appropriate response from staff who work in hospitality?nn3. Sink was blockednnI supposed to rest in the comfort room after enjoying the travel in this beautiful city. However, after entering the room became stress due to number of problems occurred and need to write unpleasant experience during my stay.nnThis hotel claimed themselves 5 star luxury. On what basis?
Excellent stay for two nights. Started off in one room and changed to another as our air conditioning wasn’t working. The room we moved to was a little stale but once we sprayed some freshener around it was fine. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the pillows adorable.nThe location is fantastic and suited us for our proximity to appointments.nThere is the sound of the underground trains but it sounded more like waves crashing and didn’t worry us too much.nWe loved the large heritage rooms which have the highest ceilings you’ve ever seen and so much space to move around.nFood was excellent and generous servings. Service very quick and responsive.nWe would definitely book again and if the manager was on top of things like air con working we would give the hotel a definite 5 star all round. Great stay!
I recently stayed at The Fullerton Sydney for an eight-night leisure trip, and unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of the five-star standards one would expect from such a renowned hotel.nnRoom Issues:nnThe most glaring issue was the terrible water pressure in the shower. After a long day, there’s nothing more rejuvenating than a good shower, but the water pressure was consistently low, making it almost impossible to enjoy. Despite multiple requests to the front desk and assurances that the issue would be addressed, it remained unresolved throughout my stay. This lack of follow-through was incredibly disappointing and affected my overall comfort.nnIn addition to the water pressure, the shower temperature fluctuated wildly between boiling hot and warm, which posed a serious safety concern. This inconsistency made showering not only uncomfortable but also potentially dangerous. Alarmingly, all three rooms I booked for my stay had the same issue, indicating a broader problem within the hotel.nnThe TV in my room was also inoperable from day one. I reported the issue immediately, hoping for a quick fix, but to my dismay, it was never repaired. For a hotel of this caliber, basic amenities like a functioning TV should be a given, not a luxury. This failure significantly impacted my downtime and overall experience.nnService:nnWhile the staff were generally polite and well-meaning, their inability to resolve these issues was frustrating. The repeated assurances without action made me feel unheard and neglected as a guest. Effective communication and prompt solutions are essential in hospitality, and The Fullerton Sydney unfortunately missed the mark on both counts.nnAmenities:nnApart from these issues, the hotel does offer some redeeming qualities. The common areas are well-maintained and the location is excellent for both business and leisure travelers. The dining options were varied and the quality of food was commendable. However, these positives were overshadowed by the significant problems in my room.nnConclusion:nnOverall, my stay at The Fullerton Sydney was far from the five-star experience I anticipated. The ongoing issues with the shower's water pressure and dangerous temperature fluctuations, coupled with the staff’s inability to resolve them, were major disappointments. I overheard other guests complaining about similar issues, suggesting these are not isolated incidents but systemic problems that need urgent attention. Until these serious issues are addressed, I would be hesitant to recommend The Fullerton Sydney to fellow travelers.
