Service centre - Csaba went above and beyond with a level worth 5 stars. Thank you Csaba for your outstanding customer service. My poor experience relates to the overpriced part that was fitted and the $188 hourly rate for an apprentice to fit it. I was charged 1.98 hours for what should not have taken more than an hour nor did it seem to as we were there waiting and could see what was happening. I was then told by the workshop supervisor that this was a ‘justifiable charge’. I certainly don’t feel this is justifiable nor reasonable. This attitude and experience has brought the integrity of the apprentice and the good people at the front counter into question along with VW as a whole. Total bill for fitting a plastic tray under the engine -$1139.
Two star just because I haven't been asked to leave. Try buying through a southern dealer I think these guy's take you for granted. I bought my Amarok from Townsville but Brisbane dealer's are better
I bought a near new car recently. The salesman was very professional, polite and patient. He was well supported by his associate staff. The car was properly prepared on time as arranged. I've bought cars from dealer before and often felt a bit unclean - this was different and now, months later, I am still happy, hence this post. In fairness though, I was very pleased with the Sales side, but less impressed by the Service Department. When you call, the phone can ring out, and messages not responded to. And when I did get a quote, the price was crazy high, take it or leave it. I had the job done elsewhere for a third of the quoted cost- seriously. OK these things happen as the year ends and there are Covid elements at play, but hey, the service department was not at it's best when I was trying to work with them.
Very disappointed with their service. and very overpriced. Firstly they wanted $2300 to fix a handbrake fault they had diagnosed which prevented the car from moving. They were going to order the part but I requested they wait until they tested the handbrake motor on the wheel. Sure enough it was a fault with the motor on the wheel. Cost of part was $500 . I then waited 2 weeks for my part to arrive and they fixed it. Total cost was $1600 - $1100 labor which they were not able to verify on their invoice. Importantly they had no transparent record for the labor hours they spent on the car. but when they have your car and your keys what can you do. I would not buy a Volkswagen in Cairns
Would give half star if available. I was flat out lied to so the service centre could save face. Not only this I wasted about 2 days of my time trying to work around their incompetence. They disconnected some of my accessories beacon and UHF in order to resolve a power drain issue. They said the problem was with the battery protector unit that was installed after market. They disconnected this but failed to say that in doing this would disconnect power to all my accessories. Therefore I had no beacon, reversing buzzer and no UHF radio. When I was trying to resolve the issue remotely with their manager he said that this information was available on the invoice. But when looking at the invoice there is no mention that on disconnecting the battery saver would cause all accessories to lose power. They failed to mention this when I picked the vehicle up also. I think anyone working on mine and construction sites would appreciate the heads up on losing all of these mandatory items. I have now organised a mobile electrician to help regain power to the accessories. I can appreciate that the service centre may be busy and failed to inform me of the loss of power to accessories but I certainly don't like the service centre taking the high road and giving me BS about the information regarding losing power to accessories was provided on the invoice....BIG FAT LIES. Watch your step at this place.
First time I'd been to Westco Volkswagen, Ange was an absolute pleasure to deal with, great sense of humour, down to earth, honest and helped me out in a number of ways. Intermittent issue with my gearbox, Ange offered numerous options to work through. Very happy!
I recently purchased a new VW from Westco VW in Cairns. With over 30 years of purchasing quality vehicle, I can share that VW Cairns provided a first class experience from enquiry to driving out of the door. Sales staff were knowledgeable, polite and not pushy in any way. They provided clear advice on value for money options, remaining transparent at all times. Highly recommended.
Great service and customer care -
General care factor of the service department average, workmanship for what you pay, average. Hoping the amount paid for the car wouldn’t be just the car itself, but the service behind it. But is a big difference, had better service and care from some back street car yards.
Why charged 3 grand put in a new clutch , dinogstic done , my gears working fine, got back mess with gears reakon needed new parts gear selectors got back no forth, I just said give van take as is, get home they haven't put back cover underneath van .. ring up can't find anywhere, so I go in see it sitting ground say that's mine, they put back on, never, never, never, again,....
