Called Mark in the morning to enquire about fixing a snapped spoke and dropped off the wheel. Was advised to come back the next day to pick up the wheel and thought that was speedy service. A couple of hours later Mark called advising that the wheel was fixed and ready for pick up. Wow, that is called providing you with 'lightning speed' service! Thanks so much Vanilla bicycles, I'll be back for any future work on my bicycle when required, no matter how big or small.
I've had my bike serviced by several bike mechanics and other big name shops over the years and my experiences have not been 100% positive as: - my bike has come back scratched - paid an arm and a leg and then some for a basic service only to find I had to go back due to some other issue. I've tried full service and things were always forgotten... - installed tape and other things without calling to check in with whether I was ok with certain brands and changes just stating that it needed changing after the fact. Mark who runs Vanilla cycles is not like any other shop and he will treat you as the A+ guest. My experience has been: + Bike is well looked after. I always inspect my bike and it is never marked or scratched further than it was. + Prices are competitive but the quality of the job and turnaround are on point! + Always calls and double checks if I want certain things, warns of delays etc and if I'm ok with this price etc. I would trust no other mechanic with my bike than Mark at Vanilla. Give him a go. I'm sure he will not disappoint. It isn't a typical Bike shop where you need to be part of a certain 'crew' or type of rider or have a certain bike and ride certain groupsets. This is just a top notch quality customer focused bike shop which we need more of in shop/customer service and people!
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Rebuild my Trek bike because the clowns in the city trek shop don’t care. Will be talking my bike back for all ongoing services.
One of the friendliest bike shops in Sydney. I've visited a few times for various service and repair work, and each time the owner has been friendly, helpful and very quick to service my bike. If looking for a new bike, this would be my first stop as it's clear the owner is genuine and offers honest and trustworthy advice. Highly recommended!
Best bike shop in Sydney. Amazing service and clear communication. Does an amazing job on servicing all kinds of bikes. Great to talk through any cycling queries. I have even had a bike fit here and it really helped my comfort and performance on the bike. Word of mouth sings Vanilla Cycles’ praises and it is clear why.

These guys are great! Definitely my go to for all things bikes from now on! I recently needed a service for my very old and well loved Shogun Trail Breaker 2. I brought it in and immediately felt these guys loved their craft, were no fuss and cared about getting me back on two wheels. The best thing about Vanilla is how welcoming they are. I have been to many bike shops and felt like the people working there were only interested in talking to you if you rode a carbon fibre bike worth thousands of dollars. Not the case here, top guys, reasonably priced and a great service!!

Mark and the team are the best in business. Very friendly people and professionals at the bike shop. Mark has a nice stock of all sorts of bikes. Plenty to pick for any type of riders. Bike and customer service is A++. Highly recommend Vanilla Cycles. Tip: try to book in your bike service in advance if you can.
Mark is just top notch- only got around to put a review now - but I visited the shop right after COVID, he always treats customers esp. newly converted cyclist as friend and provide great practical advice on how to ride better - refreshing compared with the big chain stores
