Story

Located in the historic town of Pontville, 25 minutes North of Hobart, Twelves Stones is the redeveloped and heritage listed Uniting Church building. Built in 1874 the Church asserts character and history. Having undergone an extensive renovation and modern extension the building boasts an alluring charm and appeal.

Licensed to seat 70 (or more for cocktail style events), the owners have created a boutique establishment offering modern Australian cuisine focusing on fresh locally sourced produce and Tasmanian wines served within elegant surrounds and with the highest level of customer service.

Great restaurant. Truly good, friendly service. Quality, fresh food. We ordered the risotto. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but I wasn't disappointed I've ordered it. We've ordered the bread with garlic butter - and it was absolutely worth it! Last, we ordered the chocolate chili cake, and while I wouldn't order it again because spicy isn't my thing, but it was worth it nevertheless.

Lovely spot to have breakfast on the weekend. The food can be either really good or not, seems a bit luck of the draw. They need to be more consistent with the food. The service is always friendly and attentive. The prices are steepish but generous servings.

Beautiful tasting food from the lunch menu in a lovely out door setting with a view of the gardens and fresh herbs used for food preperation. Would certainly recommend! Saturday 28-10-2017

Sundsy lunch. Top rate venue with classy decor, even had top quality linen napkins. Wait staff were attentive and professional. Food was to die for..in particular the pasture raised chicken dish and the pannacotta. Put it on your bucket list...will not disappoint.

We enjoyed our lunch here at an old-church turned restaurant.   Even though we did not book a table, the staff were so accommodating and were able to find a table for us.  The restaurant was spacious and has a high ceiling.  We enjoyed their salmon and steak both with seasonal veggies.  We will definitely come back here again.

We've gotten a few deliveries from Twelve Stones Restaurant and have had some great food. My personal favorite was the double cheese burger and southern fried chicken! They do a sit down dining experience, as well as takeaways and deliveries. The food was delicious and also very affordable.

Stopped by for lunch before Christmas. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious we had honey pork loin with onion rings, nachos, gnocchi, chowder, nougat dessert, affogato and choc mint dessert and decent sized portions. Would recommend if driving through this area.

We’ve been in Tasmania for almost a week now and can’t top the lunch we had at Twelve Stones! We didn’t have a booking and the ladies were so lovely and accommodating and got us a table right away. The food was amazing and the dessert was to die for!! Also a gorgeous setup in an old church!
