Story

Townsville Airport is North Queensland’s regional hub, providing connections from capital cities with direct flights servicing Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Darwin to outlying North Queensland. The Airport is located to the north of Townsville in the suburb of Garbutt. The Airport is situated on a coastal plain between Rowes Bay and the Bohle River, 5km west of the city centre.

Small airport so it's not difficult to work out where to head to. Free parking would be nice for short term, given how quiet the airport is. I'd be more inclined to use the cafes in there if I wasn't rushed to avoid being charged more for parking. Upgrading the older toilet blocks to newer ones is great, like the ones near luggage collection. I'd advise upgrading the toilets left of the security checkpoint after entering the secured zone.

Arrived at Townsville airport at 1545 for flight at 1945 with Jetstar. Work related flight ,so no control over time when work finished and time of arrival at airport. Unable to checkin suitcase as Jetstar not open. Had nail scissors and some cutlery in suitcase so could not go through security unless I wanted to lose these few items. Cafe outside security was closed, so no access to food or coffee until I could check in luggage. Really poor service. If closing cafe outside security, notify departing clients so they can at least pick up some descent food in town before they depart. In your information about your airport you refer to yourself as a major airport. I can confirm that I can always get a cup of coffee and a decent snack at a major airport. When I did go through security and finally purchase food ,it was of a really poor quality, and the staff serving acknowledge that the external cafe was closed as there were fewer flights today. Suggestion is to staff the external cafe when you know there are flights. Poor customer service. Security staff were lovely however and tried to be helpful

The arrival and departure being the same passage is a bit of a squeeze. Rest of the airport is just fine.

Ordinary. No showers it's a international airport ( a entry level one) only 1 cafe before security screening. .very poor speaker quality. Making announcements Muffled near the international DEP/ARR .Not helped by the poor staff technique of speaking to quickly..the interior Colour is suspect.. The cleaner carefree carpets stained men's toilets reek .
