Thrifty Car and Truck Rental Footscray

Terrible and horrid service experienced today a Thrifty Footscray. My dad got into an accident in the morning and RACV had arranged for a hire car there that afternoon. The lady (dark hair with glasses) at the counter with the worst attitude scolded us for not having a booking! She didn't even help us out when it wasn't our fault their online systems don't work. Even if it didn't work we'd at least expect some service to allow us to find a car to drive home. If you guys don't have cars available, then tell the customer so. It's not our fault you have a glitch in your system and you take your frustrations out on the customer. That lady seriously needs a lesson in "customer service". Completely horrified of the horrid attitude displayed today. Do yourself a favour and go to another hire company. You'll save yourself a headache...

Don’t rent there. They charged my credit card a second time four weeks ago and I still don’t know why. They haven’t provided any details and simply ignore my emails. Central Thrifty customer service cannot do anything because „it’s a franchise“.

I rented at Footscray a year and ahalf ago and had a horrible experience. A few weeks ago I helped my in laws hire a suv as they were down visiting from overseas, two lovely lady’s working on that weekend were very refreshing and fun. Great service seeing my father in law can be a bit difficult. After seeing all theses bad reviews I do have to say the atmosphere has changed in a great way.

Google maps showed Footscray Thrifty working 7:30am to 5:30pm everyday, but I came on Saturday afternoon and found them working 7:30am to 12:00pm on weekends. Called on Sunday morning to make a booking in person, as I wanted to arrange all payments straight away. Came over and booked a 7-seater SUV, where they told me that payment should be done on the rent day and after booking found that GPS-navigator was added, though I refused from any extras. All in all, the booking receipt showed under $400 for 1 day (including $200 deposit). A week before the rent, I got a call saying that I need to leave $100 deposit as soon as possible, where I wanted to pay everything when I was at their office; I had to ask my partner to pay, as I didn't have a chance to pay on that day. On the rent day, I was asked to transfer $500 and they didn't even have a spare GPS-navigator. Hence, in the end we provided $600 including deposit, instead of around $400 on paper. Car was OK, but service - quite confusing and not well-organized.

Reserved a 7 seater then got given a smaller vehicle after flatly lied to at the counter that mobile number given was incorrect even though it was correctly entered and confirmed online. If you've ran out of vehicles, please have the courtesy to own up and not treat people like idiots.
