We’ve been coming here since last year, and recently experienced once again just how excellent their service is.nBefore a major competition, we discovered a defect in the bow, but the staff repaired it promptly and with great care, allowing us to compete without any setbacks.nThis center is truly dedicated to supporting young musicians and provides reliable, expert guidance.nWe feel confident entrusting our child’s musical journey to them and plan to continue until conservatory entrance.nHighly recommended.

After hiring a cello from the Sydney String Centre for 3 months, I was ready to purchase my own instrument and I couldn’t be happier with the result. When I arrived today, Lou had several cellos and bows ready for me to try. As an adult beginner, I really appreciated that he took the time to demonstrate each instrument and explain the differences between them.nnHe then gave me the space to try them myself and was extremely patient while I went back and forth between two cellos. After about an hour and a half and with Lou kindly demonstrating the instruments again, I made my decision and left with my new cello, bow, and case. I couldn’t be more thrilled.nnI highly recommend the Sydney String Centre and Lou Ortiz if you’re shopping for a cello. If you or your child is just starting out, I also recommend them for hiring an instrument first. Their hire rates are very reasonable, and the quality and condition of the instruments are excellent.

Highly recommended- the expertise, knowledge and patience that we experienced when my daughter was looking for the most suitable violin for her needs. Lou Ortiz was amazing. We have now purchased 3 violins from SSC. The last two purchases, Lou could not be more helpful. On both occasions.

Lou was incredibly helpful when I visited the store to explore cello rentals. As a complete beginner, he made me feel welcome and at ease, which encouraged me to take the plunge and start learning! Thank you, Lou, for your help and encouragement. nnAfter a two-month rental, I completely fell in love with the cello and decided to buy one. Once again, Lou was very helpful and patient, giving me the time and space I needed to make the right decision. I’m absolutely delighted with my purchase. All of the staff at Sydney String Centre I’ve dealt with have been wonderfully helpful!!!

I was lucky to find a wonderful cello here for my daughter. I’m truly grateful to Lou for his patience, care, and responsibility. He chooses instruments for customers as if he were choosing for himself, with such thoughtfulness and dedication. Thanks to him, my daughter has received a gift she really loves.
