I've always loved this shop. Been shopping and donating here for 10+ years. So I'm really saddened to see prices almost double overnight. And no more half price deals on last month's clothing. Really sad. I understand prices increase to keep up with inflation, but such big increases just aren't justified! A lot of your customers are low wage earners or on benefits, I myself am a full time parent to a special needs child  - this shop gives us the opportunity to buy thing we can't afford elsewhere. But current prices are no longer affordable, not for second hand goods. This will affect your bottom line as well as staff morale, who will have to be at the front line justifying these price increases. This is why I'm airing my concerns here, not to lovely long term staff members. Whoever made this decision, it is not a good one. Please remember the community you are serving as a charity shop.

As a family of three, with a newborn baby, we recently secured a home through Kianga Ora. With the excitement of this new chapter, we found ourselves in urgent need of furnishing our house. Turning to the Salvation Army Royal Oak for support, our experience left us disheartened and frustrated.nnIn our unique situation, having just moved into a home through Kianga Ora, we anticipated that the Salvation Army would be a reliable source for affordable and essential furniture. However, our interactions with the staff were met with a lack of cooperation and understanding. As parents with a young baby, the importance of creating a welcoming home is crucial, and we hoped for empathy and assistance during this significant life transition.nnThe challenges extended to obtaining quotes for the required furniture, with unhelpful staff making the process more difficult than necessary. We were navigating this on a tight budget and expected the Salvation Army to be a supportive resource during this time.nnAdding to our concerns was the absence of a reservation system, leaving us uncertain about the availability of the furniture we needed. The lack of assurance that the items would be held for us heightened the stress of settling into our new home.nnIn light of our recent move and the unique circumstances surrounding it, we encourage the Salvation Army Royal Oak to reevaluate their approach to customer service. Recognizing and addressing the specific needs of families, especially during transitional phases, would align more closely with their mission. We hope that the organization can enhance its support for individuals and families seeking to establish stable and nurturing homes, irrespective of the housing program involved.

The salvation army is always great for a shop.and they are doing great things for the community. So drop off all your good quality donations. Always the nicest people that work there. And what a bargain got a couple of things for my daughter for a couple of bucks. Thanks

Absolutely got ripped off here. Bought a toy that blows bubbles. Looked really good but got home to find  not only didn't work but no bubble solution in the bottle.nCheck stuff before you price it. It's now in the bin. Petrol costs money so I won't be able to take it back as don't  live in the area.

Amazing fashion finds here! Recommend going early so you can get first dibs on all the good finds. Friendly team as well : Always walk out with a smile and never empty handed 10/10
