Incredible hotel. I've been lucky enough to stay here twice now to enjoy the stunning views and spa-like bathrooms provided in each guestroom. The hotel is in a convenient location for getting around Melbourne and if you're there for work, it's a reasonable walking distance to companies in the CBD.nnThe views are incredible, the room nicely sized, and again the bathroom is second to none. The finishes are tasteful and timeless. Service is always top notch.nnGood prices for the rooms when we stayed, too. This is a competitive property strictly on price, and unparalleled when the room and view is considered.
Our stay at the Ritz was one word. Incredible. The room was spacious and felt luxurious, the infinity pool is accessible 24 hours meaning you can go for a quick dip and enjoy the city lights after dinner. The bar had amazing sunset views and the shower products were super luxurious. It honestly felt like we were in another country! The hospitality was amazing where we even had a small dessert sent up to the room with ‘happy birthday’ written in chocolate for my partners birthday. Such a sweet touch to an already great experience. They even allowed for a late check out of 2pm, which was a cherry on top of the entire experience. 10/10 would stay again.
Tess and the Ritz Carlton team provided us with an unforgettable experience as we celebrated my wife's birthday. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived, with Tess warmly welcoming us and even surprising us with a bottle of champagne for the occasion. The hospitality was outstanding, and we're already looking forward to returning to the Ritz Carlton Melbourne. I highly recommend it to everyone, with its spacious rooms and breathtaking views making it a truly wonderful hotel. A big thank you to Tess and the team for making our stay so enjoyable. Regards, Dulanga Yapa.
We have now stayed at The Ritz Carlton in Melbourne on two occasions.nnThe first experiencen- Room was lovely - breathtaking views.n- Room service for breakfast was appalling. It took 60 minutes to arrive and they forgot half of our order so they had to keep coming back.n- Considering we paid roughly $1,300 for one night, it would have been nice to have complimentary coffee/breakfast or even parking. But nope - nothing was included with the room. Not sure why we paid so much to rent a room for less than 24 hours… 3pm check in and 11am check out.n- For a very high class and expensive hotel, they had two fitted sheets as bed sheets with a quilt in between. Felt very unhygienic and unsanitary. Pillows were also very hard and gave us both sore necks in the morning.n- Vibe of the hotel and customer service throughout check in and check out was lovely.nnThe second experiencen- Room was lovely - breathtaking views. We just wish the bed was facing out the window so you could enjoy that phenomenal view while in bed.n- We left our bags with the valet and had to call the lobby 3-4 times for an update on when we would receive our bags. It took an hour and a half from check in. The lady I spoke to the first two times was very abrupt and irritated by me even though I was very calm and patient - I was just querying as we had to get ready for dinner reservation.n- For a very high class and expensive hotel, they had two fitted sheets as bed sheets with a quilt in between. Felt very unhygienic and unsanitary. Pillows were also very hard and gave us both sore necks in the morning. There was also a few stains on the sheets which was unpleasant.n- Once again paid a lot of money for a room with zero complimentary coffee/food/valet.n- Pool area was so hot that it felt like you were in an oven. Not sure why it has to be that hot in there.n- The main lobby on the ground level smelt revolting. You were constantly hit by a wave of smoke from cigarettes - smelt like a dirty pub which is quite disappointing as the ground lobby is so beautiful.n- It took the valet 25 minutes to bring our car to us. Our car smelt like someone had been vaping in it.nnOverall we would not come back to this hotel or recommend it to anyone we know. We are very disappointed in the overall experience.
Great hotel with amazing facilities let down by lackluster service staff. It is blatantly obvious that some staff lack training as the service was inconsistent throughout our stay. We met some amazing hotel staff and have been let down on numerous occasions by some other staff as well. If Ritz-Carlton Melbourne can manage staff training better I would definitely rank it as the top hotel in Melbourne, but as it is at the moment the overall experience was bittersweet.nnBreakfast is a la carte and the options could benefit from being less confusing.
