My husband and I spent our second wedding anniversary in Melbourne. I thought it would be lovely to spend our final evening and morning at The Hotel Windsor. It was a great decision. The hotel is stunning. The concierge and staff were very kind and helpful- holding our bags all day while we went to Phillip Island and placing them in our room before arrival. We checked in at 11pm and were given an extra hour to check out which was much appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic as well as High Tea. I had an error with my booking for the tea room and the hotel worked with me and my third party so that we wouldn’t miss out on the plans that we had made in December- 5 months prior. I felt very appreciative for all the kindness and courtesy. We were able to truly relax and enjoy our final day in luxury. The dining room staff and supervisor couldn’t have been more hospitable. Thank you for that.
Had a event here in a side room with high tea. Service was friendly and attentive. High tea was lovely for me but my husband didn't eat the savoury food at all because it didn't suit his taste. Dessert selection was brilliant.
Living history. This hotel is magnificent old world luxury. Beautifully maintained and run. The rooms are beautiful bright and spacious. There's something special about a place with so much class and historical significance behind it. Excellent location and we are loving our stay here.
Went for Afternoon High Tea. Beautiful venue. Lovely food.nStaff are outstanding! Especially our waiter - the lovely Aussie/Vietnamese guy. So attentive, effervescent and sincere.nnDef recommend and will go again next time we're in Melbourne
We just spent five nights at the Windsor in Melbourne and loved the old world charm of the place. It was my wife’s birthday and we were surprised to find sparkling wine and a birthday card in our room when we arrived. I loved the architecture, decor and history of the place. The dinning room for breakfast each morning was special with silver service and a great selection from the menu. We did the high tea and it was something very special to help celebrate my wife’s birthday week. The staff at the restaurant were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect with all the restaurants in the area as well as the theatre. We travel to Melbourne every year for the Anzac Day football and it was so easy being able to walk the short distance to the MCG. The only thing that I could say if I had any criticism is I don’t like the shower over the bath and the bathroom in our room is in need of a make over with the basin cracked and toilet seat loose. I guess it’s got to be expected being that it’s a heritage list building but some things could do with a bit of a tidy up to keep it in pristine condition. I would definitely consider staying at the Windsor when we visit Melbourne in the future.
