We stayed for one night, and overall it was a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. However, for the price, there were a few small things that could be improved.nnWhen we arrived at our room, we spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out how to turn the lights on. Some of the lamps weren’t working, and a simple set of instructions would have been helpful. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, and water from the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor—we had to use two towels to soak it up because it got quite wet. There also wasn’t a rubbish bin in the room, which was a bit inconvenient.nnThat said, the room itself was beautiful and comfortable, and we did enjoy our stay. I’d give it a solid 6/10—just a few small things that could be looked at to improve the overall experience. :
There’s so many red flags with this place.nnDuring my entire stay, I’ve experienced:nn1. Rude service but tbf it’s only usually from the guy with the shoulder length curly hair and sometimes from the manager directly.nn2. Unresponsive and uncaring management. Literally, you’ll be directed to just always send an email which only gets responded to maybe one out of ten times.nn3. Random entries to my room without prior advance notice and if there is notice, it’s very short like less than 48 hours or so.nn4. Found maintenance personnel stepping over my bed to fix the light.nn5. Refusal to update the lighting fixture by the kitchenette with a proper bulb leaving the entire kitchenette area dark.nn6. Silence in relation to the refund of my bond back.nn7. They’re now also under external administration. So that probably helps tell you how bad things are going with this place ‍nnThe only sad thing now is I hope the nicer staff doesn’t get too affected by the winding up.
I have been staying at The Kinson quite frequently over the last month and I have to say it is a wonderful hotel. The location, the staff, the bed, the rooms…the list could go on. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with first class service. Nothing is ever too much for the staff who are always smiling and dedicated to making sure your stay is a pleasant one. The restaurant next door has an amazing steak sandwich which I highly recommend also. Overall do yourself a favour and try out The Kinson. I give it 5 stars and it’s my new favourite hotel.
Im going to give Kinson a very reasonable 4.2 star.nNow lets talk about it.. starting with the good things. The bed my wife and I slept in was comfortable and warm. The shower was warm and enough pressure. Coffee and access to a decent TV also were nice. Location wise, great for all over Melbourne. Now then, we go to the bad things, or maybe best said, things lacking. Starting with parking, there is no free parking for guests, instead a flat rate of $20 each day. Or weekend free park on the street, if your lucky. There is no phone for reception if a problem occurs. So look, overall, it is the convience you pay for. We stayed in the cheapest room, and was given a balcony room on the 12th floor. A nice view and completely soundproof from the city streets.
Stayed for Anzac Day.nPhenomenal room and Awesome location.nnVery odd that all members of my family had to show ID first time that’s ever happened and when asked why, the gentleman’s response was ‘because they are staying here’ then called my partner - my friend in a really sarcastic manner. It’s amazing how first impressions are everything, luckily for the hotel I had already paid for the hotel room, otherwise I would have walked out.nnAs stated, absolutely phenomenal rooms and great location.
