Booked for 4 on a Sunday at 10:15am!nnRespect to the portion sizes, and also execution, from classics done well to fusions. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon toast, and appreciate the tiny pickled veg squares.nnThere was definitely enough food to share and my dad enjoyed the coffee , so much so that he got two he’s prone to palpitations and still risked it.nnThe exterior is gorgeous, and note that you can go through instead of around the construction! There were a few pigeon friends that flew in but i wanted to visit the zoo anyways.nnWould definitely go back and my parents actually did the next day
Visited in the morning and had the cheesecake croffle and a flat white. The flat white was pretty good; it was on the milder side but was balanced and not milky at all. The croffle was a little crispy on the edges with condensed pastry layers which didn't taste that sweet or buttery. It is topped with sweet hibiscus soaked strawberries, mildly sweet and tangy cheesecake cream, and strong earthy matcha custard. The croffle was decent but it definitely needed more strawberries to balance the richness of the cream. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Sitting outdoors with a light breeze, excellent coffee, and a great atmosphere was the ideal way to begin the day before heading to the circuitnnBeef Brisket Pastrami Benedict AUD 26nBang Bang Chicken Salad AUD 26nIce Long Black AUD 5nSalted Maple Cold Brew AUD 8nnThe Beef Brisket Pastrami Benedict was a standout, and the drinks were exceptionalThe Iced Long Black was particularly unique, using light roast beans that delivered a distinct, nutty flavor profile The Bang Bang Chicken Salad was flavorful, though the dressing was a bit heavy-handed Toward the end, the saltiness became a little overpowering, so it might be worth asking for the sauce on the side if you prefer a lighter touchnnHighly recommend stopping by for a high-quality coffee or a relaxed brunch if you’re making your way to the Grand Prix
The Kettle Black is pretty so it hurts, in a dazzling combination of heritage and contemporaneity. Different rooms and outdoor sections offer diverse seating options, from solo to communal. The food is pretty, too. I had scrambled eggs and was impressed by the freshness and depth of flavour, although the sweet intensity of sambal was a bit hard to reconcile with shrimp and eggs in some more sambal-heavy bites. The coffee was good, the service friendly and efficient. It may not have been anything extraordinary, but the setting made it feel satisfyingly indulgent nevertheless; I left happy. A cool spot!
I had such a lovely experience at The Kettle Black. From the moment we arrived, the service felt genuinely warm. One of the staff noticed us outside and kindly welcomed us in, which already set the tone.nnThe girl at the register was so kind and made everything feel easy and comfortable. After ordering, they told us we were welcome to wait either inside or outside, which was such a small but thoughtful touch.nnWhen we received our croissants and coffee, the service continued to be just as lovely. The girl serving us made us feel really special, not just like another customer.nnAll the staff were smiling and had such positive, genuine energy. It honestly made the whole experience feel warm and memorable. Definitely a place I’d come back to.
