We visited this cafe this morning and quite frankly it was more than chaotic. However the food was amazing and a very sweet british girl went above and beyond to deliver great service for us! Because of this we will definitely be back soon!!

Another long-term favourite that's gone sadly downhill. Degraves Espresso Bar was a regular stop in the mid-2000s. We loved it for the Melbourne vibe. And it's still a Most Awesome place to sit and watch the circus parade going past (although paradoxically I've yet to have a decent coffee there). Meanwhile, it grows progressively shabbier each passing year, while the 'service' alternates from amusing to abject, without achieving anything approximating adequacy. Plus, antics. In earlier days, this 'cash only' gig was a minor annoyance. In 2018, 'cash only' is a gross inconvenience, and a sign that (at best) the owner suffers from imbecilic levels of banking and business incompetence. For goodness' sake, buy a dog, put the accounts in HIS name, and get the café a credit card facility.

This was was great. The coffee was nice and so was the food. We had the Granola and the Spanish tomatoes both were big and tasty.

Great food, great staff and service that make the 'Degraves experience' awesome. The coffee is fantastic. I have never had a less than wonderful coffee. Kudos to the Battista!

Very good service. Maybe the best coffee of Melbourne. Original place. The eggs Benedictin were just amazing! We come back soon!
