What a wonderful experience it is to stay at The Carrington. We arrived to stay one night, but on arrival we loved it so much we decided to stay for our whole time in the mountains. Enjoy the splendid surroundings and make time to relax in thr stunning lounge and library. It truly is a home away from home. Beautiful facilities, complimented by the kind and generous team who take care of guests as though they are friends.nnI highly recommend a visit for anyone coming to the Blue Mountains.
To be fair, we didn’t stay at The Carrington this time, but in both, staying there on anprevious occasion & admiring the sheer stature of this heritage icon & it’s features, we decided to have dinner there on Friday evening & booked a table as it was the Blue Mts Magic Festival Parade weekend. The dinner table service was so very disappointing. We didn’t get our bottle of wine until after the Entree & we had to request it. Our saving grace was a young service focused man who was professional, polite, engaging in conversation & apologetic for the obvious, lack of acceptable dinner service that evening. Good on ya Jackson Greenbank for being a trooper & working so very hard to make amends. The Carrington are lucky to have you in their employ, service prevailing, you are clearly, a demonstrable success & in paying the dinner bill for a prestige hotel to say ‘no split bills’ cash/eft etc when the provision of same, exists is poor form, I reckon !
Had some pre-dinner drinks here. What an amazing cosy place. Decor was tasteful and elegant. Drinks were well priced and service impeccable. Could have spent the whole night curled up in one of their very comfortable chairs with a book.nWorth going in just to admire the old worldly charm and the history of the place.nCan’t fault it.
Had a lovely stay at the Carrington Hotel. The historic charm, beautiful architecture, and convenient location in Katoomba made for a memorable experience. The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable. My only downside was the very squeaky floorboards, which woke me up during the night when people walked past. Aside from that, it was a wonderful stay and I’d happily return.
