We came to look at this lovely, old fashioned hotel. It looks wonderful and it is nice to know that the owner is putting in to keeping it as lovely as it is.nWe decided to eat lunch in the bar area. Friendly staff, did ask about the cake of the day ,the staff were not aware and tried to find out, it would have been nice if I would have just been informed when they found out instead of me having to ask again. The club sandwich was tasty and my partner enjoyed the soup.nThe toilets were clean.nThe hotel looks amazing.
It's been a long-held dream of mine to stay at the iconic Carrington Hotel, and I'm thrilled to say it was annabsolutely lovely experience!nMy two-night stay was everything hoped for and more.nnThe service was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff went above and beyond, personally checking in with us to ensure all our needs were met. Any requests we had were attended to promptly, making us feel incredibly well-cared for throughout our stay.nnThis wonderful experience has solidified our plans: we ladies will definitely be making this an annual visit! and already booked for next year 2026
What a great grand old hotel in the centre of town. Stayed three nights in the middle of the week. Most importantly for Katoomba in winter the whole place was warm! Made a great base for exploring the area and enjoying the local bush walks. Staff were fantastic and made the stay very enjoyable. Next time we will stay longer.
We’ve been coming to the Carrington for 27 years, she has never disappointed us. The ambience, the history, the staff, the location just do it for us. Devonshire Tea on the verandah, overlooking the garden and townscape is a treasured treat as is a meal in the Victorian Grand Dining Room this room needs to be seen to be believed. We recommend the Premier Balcony Rooms but the Colonial wing rooms, the Suites and Premier rooms are all equally quirky and stylish. For an added Victorian experience a stay in a Traditional Room is something to try. We like the Carrington as a step back in time - an escape from the 21 century and everyone needs that.
We have just had a fabulous stay at the Carrington with 2 dear friends from the UK on their first visit to Australia.nThe hotel is just beautiful and the service was excellent, from our first encounter with Tinker at Reception. The gorgeous Colonial rooms were wonderful, with all amenities required available. There were many great spaces lounges, verandas to relax and enjoy conversation and refreshments.nThere is secure undercover parking.nWe had a fabulous dinner in the Bistro and an amazing breakfast in the Grand Dining Room.nAt the front of the hotel are buses to all the famous destinations and Katoomba St has many interesting sights and antique stores.nThe hotel itself is steeped in history and has been lovingly restored and decorated accordingly. You could literally spend hours walking around the beautiful sitting rooms.n It is obvious that the staff love working there. They are helpful, polite and very enthusiastic.nIt also has special memories for me, as my parents had their honeymoon there in 1953.nThanks to the team for a wonderful stay, we’ll be back very soon
