Welcome to the Hotel Gearin, Katoomba, located in the centre of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Amazing natural wonders such as the Three Sisters and Echo Point, are located literally at the Hotel’s doorstep. Hotel Gearin offers a warm and comfortable place to rest, where visitors can choose from many local and imported wines and beers, check out bands from all walks of life and snuggle up in our comfortable, affordable accommodation. The Blue Mountains offers many beautiful bush walks that cater to the experienced walkers as well as easier walks suited to those just wishing to see a few sites. For the more adventurous there is also abseiling, rock climbing and mountain-biking, all of which can be booked literally 1 minute walk from Hotel Gearin. Established in 1881, with additions being made in 1919 and 1927, Hotel Gearin is a beautiful example of the Art Deco period. Originally built by George Biles, the hotel was bought and named in 1910 by one Mrs Gearin.

The centrepiece of the hotel is the classic Australian “long bar” where we serve ice cold Australian and imported draught beers along with a large range of wines, spirits and bottled beers. Espresso coffee and other non-alcoholic refreshments are also available, as are light meals. Cool in summer, the hotel is beautifully warmed by two cosy open fireplaces in winter.

We have Aussie “pub style” accommodation, ensuites as well as affordable budget backpacker rooms. Something to suit everyone!
