The Mountain Heritage Hotel and Spa Retreat is a four and a half star deluxe accommodation venue situated in the heart of the Blue Mountains

Story

From its unique position high above Katoomba the Mountain Heritage Hotel & Spa commands unrivalled panoramic views that stretch seemingly forever across the World Heritage Listed wilderness beyond. Deep green valleys filled with rainforest are bordered by towering cliff faces which catch the light of the sun and provide an ever changing contrast of colour and texture.

There are a range of styles of accommodation to choose from – all independently rated at 4½ Stars by AAA Tourism. While queen or king size beds and ensuite bathrooms are now mostly standard at this level The Mountain Heritage is still the only hotel style property in the Mountains to offer guest bedrooms which feature a spa bath and fireplace in room – a truly unique touch. There are just 41 rooms which means the property operates on a genuinely human scale - friendly personalised service is assured.

Hotel facilities include a fully licensed a la carte restaurant serving excellent contemporary Australian cuisine; an indulgent day spa 'Spa Sublime' offering a dazzling array of treatments; cocktail bar; library; comfy lounge areas with open fireplaces; swimming pool; fitness centre plus lovely verandahs & garden areas.

Loved our stay here, great historical building and decor plus a convenient location. Views are amazing from our room and the rest of the hotel!nnSome of the period features and older style of the rooms might not suit everyone, but I appreciate a bit of old world charm. Especially that library and bar area - really lovely.nnThanks to Molly, Eric and the management team for the friendly service, and to Tim and the kitchen team for a great buffet breakfast!
My husband and I made a last minute booking here and really enjoyed our stay. We arrived at dusk, just on happy hour so put our bags in the room and went down the hall for a drink and managed to get a photo of the stunning view. A staff member handed out some tasty nibbles at this time, a man playing the piano, the fireplace was going and Christmas decorations were up for their pending Christmas in July celebrations -nWonderful vibes!. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant and they provided a complimentary small serve of cream of cauliflower soup and roll, which was lovely! The meal was good and our room & bathroom were comfortable and clean.nThank you!
Adorable BnB-style property in the Blue Mountains! The staff were so friendly and the rooms comfortable and cozy especially loved the soaking tub after a long day. It's an easy 10-minute walk to the train station, town, and nearby hiking trails. Breakfast was great, and the views from the lounge and restaurant were absolutely perfect. Loved the fun Christmas in July decorations they had up too — such a nice touch. Highly recommend staying here!
Having tried many of the luxury hotels in the region I have to say this one really impressed. Spacious and old worldy, renovated just enough to ensure it holds the character of it's past era. Long hallways decorated with period photos make for an interesting browse in a quiet moment. The Mountain View rooms give a view across the rooftops of Katoomba to the Kedumba Valley take your binoculars! Rooms are clean, adequately appointed and well staffed. The staff are friendly, chatty and eager to help. Bar and restaurant is on par with like establishments. Plenty of comfortable lounges, open fires and views.nHighly Recommend.
We stayed here for our 39th wedding anniversary as a last minute plan to head to the mountains. The building is full of character and charm and history and you feel like you step back in time. Its quiet with lovely sitting areas and great views of the valley. A nice welcome and congratulatory note with cookies on our bed was a simple nice additional touch.nnOur room was without a view, yet was very comfortable and clean albeit quite old furnishings. The king bed was comfortable and crisp white linen made for a good sleep.nnDinner in the restaurant was delightful, french styled so quite rich. The complementary cauliflower soup was delicious. Service by all the staff in the check in, check out, and particularly the California Bar and restaurant was wonderful, friendly, accommodating and made you feel very welcome.nnThe highlight was Alan, the pianist who plays from 5pm to 9pm. A wonderful way to have a pre-dinner cocktail with the piano filtering in as the music in the dining room, and a lovely way to finish dinner back in the cocktail lounge for a night cap and Alan's music. This really made the atmosphere of the evening.nnBreakfast was adequate yet a little disappointing. No offer of fresh eggs cooked, and the cold buffet lacked any variety in fruits being end of summer only melon and tinned peaches, no cheeses or cold meats nor fresh bread loaves or rolls, which we prefer to toast bread.nnDespite this, a lovely evening and night to celebrate another year of being together. I would enjoy to come back and next time will request a room with a view. Thank you.
