This is a lovely historical hotel in a convenient location. However, we had room 18, which faces the street, the main highway, and train station. The freight trains and semi trailers ran all night, with plenty of brake screeching and shunting. I was woken at 0300 by them, and my wife didn't sleep at all. Plus, there was a communal area outside our room, which wasn't used, but I imagine it could get rowdy at other times. The bed was also slightly higher at the foot than at the bed head. When we checked out, no one asked about our stay, which is not surprising. I don't think anyone who gets that room would have anything positive to say. I think we had the 'Booking.com' deal room.
Stayed 1 night room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was good and the lady serving breakfast lovely. Reception was professional .Location right near train station so very convenient.. We enjoyed playing snooker too .nOnly two issues for us - property needs to advertise that some rooms face into an atrium / stair well. Then no surprises. I do not like this type of room as suffer minor claustrophobia..nYoung man at reception tried to accomodate us but property was sold out as a busy weekend Other issues a door was slamming shut all night . Mostly likely from the second floor closed off for renovations. It was a windy night so mostly likely this or perhaps a resident ghost ! I was not up to roaming in the dark to look for it hotel has a little spooky old world feel which we kind of liked nAll the internal rooms would have be impacted from this noise . Myself a light sleeper meant I hardly slept. I did try and call after hours but they said hopefully it will stop . 730am still slamming. I guess a one off but having staff on-site would have fixed that right away .nApart from slamming doors it is really quiet so as I said most likely just bad luck for us .nI would most likely stay again perhaps once renovations finish and definitely book an external view room.
My sister and I stayed for 2 nights. The guest house is perfect location, clean, tidy and very unique. Yolande at reception was super helpful with tips of where to go and what to do in the area and surrounds. Also she was very warm and welcoming. Would definitely stay again and would most certainly recommend to others.
It's a quaint, historic guest house. If you love that feel of stepping back into time, this place is for you. They have retained much of their old world charm complete with phonographs, an antique pool table, and furnishings that take you back to a bygone era. The rooms themselves surprisingly have nice beddings, but is not modern by any means.nnThe price is ok. The location is awesome, with plenty of street parking and its own small parking lot. It's a few minutes walk to many restaurants and shops. It serves as an excellent base for your Blue Mountains adventures!
This is a very special experience. I was a little worried when I originally booked this cultural heritage hotel. After arriving, I was completely fascinated by its classical and romantic atmosphere. The hotel staff were enthusiastic and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and rich. The room was small but Clean, warm, comfortable, and most importantly, the location is great. It's just opposite the train station. Our room window faced the railway tracks, but we were not disturbed by the train at night. We still had a good night's sleep. It is highly recommended to go to the Blue Mountains here. You won’t regret your stay!
