@ 8Things, we serve freshly made street food from around the world

Story

8Things is a take away shop with a dine in capacity of 20 seats. The food is based on Chef Misha Laurent's travels and passion for street food. Having spent 2 years in South East Asia working for Eastern Oriental Express, the passion for hawker style cuisine came naturally to him.

Misha also spent 2 years in Toronto Canada where he discovered North American style street food. Raised in Paris he was also exposed to North African culture which is reflected in his style of cooking.

At 8Things, we believe you don't have to spend a fortune to get quality authentic dishes from around the world and take away food can be made fresh, quickly and simply. The 8 dishes will seasonally evolve and change, keeping the menu fresh and interesting with most products made on site.

Here at 8 things we believe in a work/life balance so will be closed every second weekend due to family commitments. Check out our online calendar to see our weekend schedule and opening hours.

Singaporean-approved Singapore laksa! Generous portion and ingredients. Totally satisfied our cravings for food from home. The tofu fries and fried chicken burger were very good too. Nasi goreng was a tad too sweet for our liking but we liked the add-on crispy pork belly. There was only one chef doing all the cooking but she was very fast and efficient, speedily churning out one bowl after another. If you are looking for Asian food, look no further. You won’t be disappointed
Stopped by 8 Things Eatery while visiting Katoomba and it was a great casual lunch spot. The place has a cool, relaxed vibe with a world-map theme and you can see the kitchen in action which adds to the atmosphere.nnWe ordered the Singapore Laksa and the NYC Cheeseburger, both were really tasty and nicely presented. The laksa had great flavour and the burger with fries hit the spot after a morning exploring the Blue Mountains.nnPrices are a little on the higher side and there’s a Sunday surcharge, but overall a solid place to grab a meal if you’re in the area.

Be quick to snag a table because this place is popular. Food was exceptional. The chef has pure talent! Perfectly refined menu. Great prices.
Lovely food. Very nice selection. Lot of flavours. Nice portion. Reasonable price. The place is quite cold, but i guess this is usual in May in Australia.
